As it turned out, it didn’t sound too good after all though, for what Loki had failed to tell you was that the group of Lokis he had spoken about was witty. Dangerous. And they already had the new Variant on their side. One that, as it turned out, looked exactly like yourLoki. Their timeline must have been so similar you wondered whether there were only subtle differences with how things turned out for him in the first place.
Besides that, you were wondering what had caused this Loki to get on the TVA’s radar and end up here. He did seem like he had been through a lot—just like your Loki once his presidential campaign had gone downhill.
Only this Variant was different. This Variant… recognised you. Your heart skipped a beat when he spoke your name in midst of this strange hideaway underground. You half hid behind your Loki to remain undetected, not interested in a confrontation with any of the Lokis who, ultimately, all wanted the same thing—power, a throne, recognition.
There was pain reflecting in his eyes. “I thought I lost you…”
Your lips parted. “Loki… um, I’m… I’m not your… I’m from a different timeline.”
“She’s mine, Variant,” your Loki growled.
The new Variant’s eyes shot up, locking with President Loki’s eyes. It was a stare down contest if anything, neither of them willing to blink.
“Loki, he’s telling the truth. I don’t know you.”
“I recognise her too. You are so young.” The oldest Loki in the room suddenly spoke up. He didn’t seem to take any particular interest in you beyond that, perhaps because you were several thousand years younger than he was. The kid in the room had probably not met his version of you yet and for the Loki wielding what looked a little like Thor’s hammer, you must have looked different as well.
It was the new Variant that your Loki felt threatened by as of right now. The tension was palpable.
“Is he keeping you hostage here?”
Gasping for air, you shook your head. Your Loki right next to you was fuming.
“I will not hesitate to gauge your eyes out if you keep looking at her.”
The new Loki breathed out, rolling his eyes and shaking his head a little—almost as if he was annoyed by this mirrored version of himself. He had guts, reminding you once more that this Variant and the Loki you had fallen in love with were quite possibly almost the same.
You felt a little… sorry for him. Who knew how he had lost his version of you in his own timeline. Any of them. But with this Loki, looking the same as your Loki, it felt… more intense, as if there was a connection.
SomethingyourLoki did not fail to notice.
“Enough of this!” The Loki with the rather strange Mjölnir replica bellowed with a start. “Let’s focus on the task at hand here. I betrayed you and now I’m king!”
President Loki raised his eyebrows, stepping forward menacingly. The subtle and yet so dangerous move did not fail to send shivers up and down your spine.
“About that…”
“You can’t be serious!”
“Come on… what did you expect?” Fuck.You bit your lower lip, stifling a hysterical laugh. One thing was for sure—your Loki was the hottest man walking the planet, wasn’t he? You sighed, averting your gaze quickly when you realised that the new Variant was still staring at you, observing each and every single one of your reactions to whatever was unfolding in the hideaway.
“That was not the bargain! I gave you our location in exchange for shelter and supplies, you give me your army and I take the throne!”
“Ah, yes… not so good a bargain. How about this one? My army, my throne. Now get on with what we came here for!” He shouted.
Next thing you knew, all hell broke loose and the Variants following Loki’s every command attacked, plundering, fighting, tricking.
Your Loki grabbed your upper arm. It was apparent he had no interest in participating in this battle himself.
“Let’s get out of here! And take him.” He ordered, nodding towards the new Variant. His gaze met yours, a mischievous and menacing smirk spreading on his lips. “He might come in handy. And he will pay for laying his eyes on you, pet.”

“Did you see the way he looked at you?” Loki barked once you were back at your shelter, the Variants following you suit. Well, except for the new one, that was. They were struggling dragging him along. You flinched when he flung an empty glass bottle off the nearby table using his magic.
“Loki… Loki, I know you’re angry but please, calm down.”
“What do you think will happen if we don’t get him under control? He will want you all for himself! If he is anything like me beyond his looks, he is going to try anything in his power to take you from me!”
“That won’t happen! I won’t letthat happen! I belong to you, Loki! We came from the same timeline, we are meant to be together. No one can take that from us!”
Growling like a feral animal, he reached for you and pulled you close so that you got knocked into his steel chest. You gasped, unable to take a proper breath before his lips came crushing down on yours, claiming your mouth like he was afraid this was going to be the last time he got to kiss you. So all the variants follow the path of Loki in the sacred timeline, so the path we see Loki follow thought the main mcu films. From the clips we see that Sylvie is captured by the TVA as a child so, up until the point she is caught, we can assume her life was identical to the loki we know in the films.
What if the nexus event that caused her variation was loki exploring their gender identity for the first time?
Sylvie tells us she knew she was adopted so maybe Frigga and Odin decide to tell her as a child, which leads to her questioning her identity, questioning her gender and eventually becoming female.
Only for the TVA to turn up and take her away, to tell her that what she did was wrong, that she was never meant to exist… Which young Sylvie would clearly perceive as them telling her that genderfluidity is wrong, and see the TVA trying to erase a key part of her identity.
However, she escapes the TVA (probably with the help of a certain agent with a soft spot for broken things) and is forced to live life in the shadows. She changes her name, distancing herself from the person she has been told she was meant to be. She embraces her female identity. She dies her hair in an expression of bodily autonomy.
She makes it her mission to destroy the TVA so she can exist not only as a Variant, but as a woman.
Loki’s first hug since Thor 1 and also the first physical affection he has gotten since escaping Thanos was from his abuser and that fact makes my skin crawl.

I have a legit question for anyone who has seen the Loki season finale. Also just my thoughts below. Click read more to see… *SPOILERS Obviously*
WHERE WERE THE SCENES OF LOKI IN STARK TOWER AND LOKI IN HIS ASGARDIAN ARMOR AT THE THRONE!? These.
That was all I was looking for the whole time for this episode as they were in the trailers. Asgardian king Loki is my favorite version. I guess it was never meant to be important. I hate being teased with it though.
Overall the finale was meh for me. I feel like we ended up right back where we started with confused Loki in the TVA. And that the show wasn’t as much about our Loki at all, but exposition to start the multiverse war for the rest of the MCU. He just happened to be there when everything went down.
I know the Sylki shippers got a kiss too which will upset others again. I accept that many people see Sylvie and Loki as not related any more than our Loki and alligator Loki would be, or our Loki and Boastful Loki. Different universes, different genetics (hopefully). And I would never blast that when it makes someone else happy.
But I wish the show could have given us something more concrete on Sylvie’s lineage as well so we could quit fighting about whether it’s incest or not. On her file it just said Laufeysdottir.
So I couldn’t help but assume she’s just from a timeline where Laufey had a daughter instead of a son. Or where he had a son who chose to be female later. Which if they have the same biological dad, regardless of timeline it’s just too cringe for me. And I had to look away at that part. They’d just be siblings that hadn’t met before. Sorry, I hope they don’t have the same blood, but no one cared to explain it for us. So everybody goes to war needlessly over it. ☹️
The whole gender fluid thing was not used at all either when even the other Lokis seemed so shocked a female version of them could exist. That was weird for the showrunners to pat themselves on the back about pulling that into MCU canon but not use it or reference it even once.
In all, the finale wasn’t as bad as Ralph Bohner of course. But I didn’t feel any real anything for it which bums me out. We got to find out the origin of the TVA. That was about it.
Oh well. I think the worst part about these series releasing just one episode a week is it gives us fans way too much time to imagine limitless possibilities and the coolest storylines. Then the actual episodes are really just boring and tame compared to everything else you wondered if they would do.

Edit: Oh, and there was no Mobius on a jet ski! I am salty about the jet ski setup for no payoff! Mobius forgetting Loki, for now I can look past though as I’m sure it won’t be permanent. They have too much chemistry as characters to let that pair go.

Loki Episode 4. Spoilers behind cut. My thoughts on what others deemed controversial.
Twitter and Tumblr both seem to be melting down with people telling this show to fuck right off after the last episode because of two main things. Even getting mad at Tom, the biggest Loki fanboy, for being a producer on this? But I think it’s going to be okay?
1.Mobius getting pruned - People infuriated at the implied character death, saying it’s a bury your gays situation. But he can’t be dead. How would Loki still be alive? Melting stick is apparently not killing them, but throwing them into the windows desktop recycle bin of the universe/multiverse with all the other pruned variants. They just need to find the restore file button. Seems like that’s the next mission to follow.
2.SylviexLoki and the selfcest/incest vibe that gives off for a lot of people.- This one is more fair I think to be pissy about because yes, that is how they’re setting it up until this point. Mobius while already angry, rants at Loki a little about being such a narcissist that he’d fall for Sylvie and taunts Loki, calling her Loki’s girlfriend.
Also Loki is interrupted while about to confess whatever his actual feelings are to Sylvie, so you never get to hear it. It’s setup though in traditional movie style like he would have kissed her. So, yes, fair to believe it’s only romantic.
BUT. There are already articles out there with the show director saying it isn’t. That SylviexLoki is platonic and a friendship that is so new for the both of them. So I’m waiting to see how it plays out. I think they are baiting us with the romantic/selfcest angle for drama, and that it will end up that really the nexus event on Lamentis was that he felt platonic love for her. And Loki doesn’t normally let himself love. And maybe he’s still confused himself about what to call it. I think it’s the showrunners’ clumsy attempt at showing Loki finally learning to love and accept himself by opening up/getting attached to Sylvie.
Anyway, my two cents! I do think they wanted fans to be upset/uncomfortable to some degree, which it’s dumb when shows do that too much. But I think there’s more to come and they’re still playing us.
Edit: Also I am not anti SylviexLoki. I completely get the people that love it. If she wasn’t also Loki I wouldn’t be conflicted in the least. I just can’t shake the “but that’s your twin ”, view. It’s like Wanda and Pietro hooking up to my brain, that’s all. For the fans that see Sylvie and Loki as two different people, totally fine. I know they are both awesome and we want more of them.
