Hello fellow nerds, hope you’re all doing well!

If you have been following my studyblr, you will know that my first ever 100 Days of Productivity has come to an end. Throughout the course of my participation in this challenge, I have gotten quite a few questions about what this challenge actually is. As I am starting a new 100 Days of Productivity on January 31st, I thought I’d write up an ‘About The 100 Days of Productivity Challenge’ post that covers what the challenge is,why it is awesome, and how to participate in the challenge.

WHAT IT IS

The 100 Days of Productivity Challenge is one of the most popular online productivity tags that motivates people to get things done! The challenge itself, put simply, is to try and accomplish at least one productive thing a day for 100 days. What is considered ‘productive’ is completely up to you. It can range from cleaning your desk to writing a 20-page research paper. Really, whatever you consider being productive can be classified as so. The challenge is super flexible, and I think that is why so many people love to participate in it!

WHY IT IS AWESOME

  • It establishes productive habits - 100 days is a pretty long time. Getting into the routine of doing one productive thing a day for this period of time really helps to develop productive habits that will improve your efficiency and organisation.
  • It is a great way to monitor the work you accomplish - The challenge offers a great way to keep track of what you achieve, whether you choose to document it online or on paper.
  • It motivates you to actually get things done - The expectation of completing one productive thing a day really does motivate you to actually do that one productive thing, and in the end, you achieve more than expected.
  • It provides you with motivation and support - This has to be one of my favourite aspects of the challenge. There are so many people who are apart of the online study community that participate in the 100dop challenge. We all encourage each other to achieve our best and support each other when we aren’t coping so well. This genuine support and encouragement makes being productive so much more enjoyable.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

It’s quite simple, really. You do one productive thing a day for 100 days, and you document it however you like. A lot of people, like myself, choose to post a 100 Days of Productivity Challenge Update each day on their online accounts with a photo and summary of what they achieved. I will be using #raf100dop to track my next 100 days, which I recommend you do as well! I’ll be sure to regularly look through the tag and support your posts!

If you would rather not post your documentation of productivity for this challenge online, you can keep tabs on what you achieve on paper instead! I would recommend either keeping a study journal where you write down what you get done each day or use online printables (I really like @emmastudiesprintable) to document your productivity.

TO REMEMBER

You can start taking part in this challenge whenever you like! There is no start and end date. I will be starting on January 31st, the start of my new school year. You are more than welcome to do the same!

You don’t have to be a dedicated study blog or account to partake in this challenge. Everyone is encouraged to get involved!

This challenge is meant to motivate you to be productive, and to make being productive fun! Don’t feel too pressured to post every single day. If you can’t cope with consecutive posting, you don’t have to! Just do what you are comfortable with.

That’s all for now, I hope this post has been helpful! If you are confused or have any questions, please feel free to ask! And if you do decide to participate in the 100dop, make sure to tag #raf100dop so I can check out your posts!

Bringing back this old summary of one of my favourite Studyblr challenges … I may or may not need the 100dop motivation myself :)

100 Days of Productivity

Sat 3 Jul 21

The state has been sent into a COVID lockdown and I’ve honestly been having a rather nice time. Am working from home, so have had time in between to organise my room, go on walks, read books, etc etc. It feel like I’m existing at a slower, calmer pace and I love it.

Rules

1. Do not request smut or anything suggestive for members that are minors.

2. Do not request writings about rape or abuse - I am lucky to not have any traumatic experiences like that, but that also means I have no idea what that does to a person and their loved ones, so I don’t think it’s right for me to write about it.

My Productive Morning Routine : Quarantine 2020

Hi all! All of my exams were cancelled, meaning I don’t have any academic work set by school. It’s quite exciting to be able to choose what I do - here’s how I’ve redefined ‘productivity’ and am trying to make the most of my time at home.

1. Wake up and read in bed - 8:00 am

I start off by reading blogs using RSS feeds on my phone, then checking BBC news, then reading an eBook on my iPad. The world’s most successful people often report similar habits with reading for all it’s benefits, but additionally aside from that, having this habit in place stops me from going on social media first thing in the morning.

2.  Workout -8:40am

I use the Chloe Ting workouts on YouTube and do at least one a day. Sometimes I do more, sometimes less, but the endorphins really make me feel happier in the morning, and it’s nice to know you’ve done something good for yourself straight away after getting out of bed. Sometimes, I follow this up with yoga practice or meditation, depending on how I feel.

3. Shower and choose an outfit - 9:00am

I’ve got to admit, I am one of those people who gets properly dressed in quarantine - wearing joggers all day just makes me feel sleepy and unproductive. I’ve been opting instead for soft, wide legged trousers or a pair of looser fitting jeans (mom jeans/wide leg) and a jumper.

4. Skincare! - 9:20am

I’ve recently been watching a lot of YouTube videos by dermatologists and other licensed professionals recommending certain products. I have quite sensitive combination skin, and I’ve been using the brands Cerave, Cetaphil and The Ordinary. I might make a post on my full skincare routine if people are interested!

5. Journal - 9:30am

I’ve been using the 'self-discovery’ prompts from the blog the bliss bean and they have been really good so far! The process of journaling I find to be really therapeutic, and these prompts help me get the most out of it. It’s really helped me with making certain decisions and changed the way I’ve thought about previous friendships/relationships. This is also where I do my manifestation for law of attraction practice.

6. Duolingo - 9:50am

Since quarantine started I resolved to try and pick up French again, which I achieved a grade 9 in at GCSE, but didn’t take it forward for A Levels. It helps that I have a 40+ day streak on the app now, and my competitive self really doesn’t want to lose it!

7. Bullet Journaling - 10:10am

I love my bullet journal. This doesn’t take me very long, but each day I’ve been logging a few things I’m grateful for, writing down my to-do list, and making myself write down a good deed I’ve done for someone else the previous day. I’ll be posting some images of my bullet journal soon, no doubt.

8. Breakfast - 10:20am

I have the same breakfast most days - oats with almond milk, topped with a banana, any berries we have in the house (today was blueberries and strawberries!), flax seeds and almond butter. It fills me up and tastes really, really good… I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it!

9. Online Learning - 10:50am

Without school, I can do this for as long or as little time as I want, but I’ve been trying to use Khan Academy at least a bit every day. I’ve been working through the Health and Medicine section, looking at all the different body systems. At the moment, for example, I’m making notes from the videos on the Endocrine System.

10. Other projects - 11:30am

The rest of my morning following this massively varies. I’ve started sewing during isolation, and it’s a skill I’m working to improve, as well as re-starting and re-branding this blog, improving my writing skills and so on. Of course, all of those are things I’ve done, but some days I end up lay on my bed watching TikToks. It’s all about balance!

I hope I’ve given you some ideas of your own with this post! I’m really thankful to have what I have right now, and to be safe at home, and I know not everyone is so lucky. All my love and applause goes out to key workers who are being incredible in this time. For everyone else - I hope you are staying well!

Spring Semester-May 13th

My brain decided to fully wake me up at 6 am on my only day off, so now it’s 4 pm and I’m bored because I don’t really want to study any more.

So, I’ve done laundry, tidied my flat, read (Melanie Murphy’s Fully Functioning Human (almost) and Becky Albertalli’s Leah on the Off Beat (it’s as good as SVTHSA, it’s insane!)), thought of/planned/wrote yet another paper on harpies (5 pages this time), tried to find a subject for my masculinity paper (I think I’m gonna go with Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the end, never mind that I already did an assignment on Terry Crews for this class). I also did some self care, aka face mask and hair mask. To be honest, now that Years & Years is soon done playing in my flat, I shall go back to my reading nook (aka my bed, a plaid, and pillows) and continue LOTOB.

Have a nice Sunday, and ‘til next Sunday/my next day off
