If you’re ever sad just remember that when sirius and snape were arguing, sirius looked him dead in the eyes and called him Snivellus what a Legend

Ahh yes nothing as “Legendary” as using the epithet you made up to taunt a fellow child and continued to use to dehumanize him for the rest of both of your short, miserable lives.

lmao snape legit used a derogatory term at Lily who he claimed to be in love with and then joined a group of oppressive violent racists and then proceeded to bully and torment a group of children for the next 6 years of his miserable life so yes the fact that Sirius called him Snivellus is Legendary bc Snivellus was a fucking abusive asshole and i think Snivellus is quite PG compared to some of the things i think of him

a complete list of my fav Snape moments!!!!!!

  • the time Hermione set him on fire
  • his death

unpopular opinions/my accepted head cannons: ✨marauders edition✨

  • Remus x Sirius
  • James and Sirius were best friends but Sirius was also very close with Remus before they got together
  • James x Lily
  • Regulus was actually an enemy of Voldemort’s the whole time but acted as though he was a death eater in order to successfully “betray” him
  • Marlene was the second best quidditch player on the team (to James)
  • Remus was “one of the girls” (he had a special bond with the girl friends that the other marauders didn’t have)
  • Remus and Lily had a very close friendship and definitely gossiped about each other’s relationship to one another
  • Regulus is bi or pan
  • Lily’s smarter than Remus
  • Peter was always a bitchass fuckhead
  • Sirius paints his nails and sometimes Remus will too
  • Sirius does like to wear dresses/skirts sometimes but only around remus, James and Lily bc he gets insecure (poor baby )
  • Remus admired James growing up and wanted to be like him until he found himself
  • Remus is bi
  • James was always kind of insecure but used his cockiness and confidence to cover it up
  • Sirius had longer hair all his life bc it pissed off his mom
  • Remus and Sirius are both switches depending on the(ir) mood
  • Lily is a top
  • James is a switch
  • Peters a bottom
  • Remus and Sirius have a couples tattoo
  • The marauders have matching group tattoo
  • Sirius always felt guilty for leaving Remus thinking that his best friends were dead and boyfriend was a killer who betrayed them
  • Snape never loved Lily he was just obsessed

sunshinemarauder:

One thing that I, a queer person of color, can never understand, is how people continuously justify Snape (and Draco for that matter but he’s more complicated) ’s pursuing of the Dark Arts in the first place. Not only because they’re disgusting and murder and torture is disgusting, but because THEY ADVOCATED FOR GENOCIDE.

Do you not understand that for some reason? The fact that they joined an organization that wanted Hermione, Lily, Dean Thomas, Ted Tonks, and all of the other muggleborns to BE DEAD? What the hell?

That rings way too close to the discrimination marginalized people have faced for thousands of years and there’s no way in hell I’m going to justify that.

The only reason Snape even left is because the object of his obsessive desire (who he called a freaking slur!) was under threat. And even then, he was willing for her husband and baby to die as long as she stayed alive (like she would willingly go back to him after that - is he delusional?). If Neville had been picked as the boy in the prophecy, he would have lived and died as a Death Eater without any regrets. Um, that rings about a thousand bells for me.

Draco was in a similar situation, although he was exposed to the pureblood mania from birth, unlike Snape, who was a half-blood himself. Draco had so many opportunities to learn and unlearn what he had been taught (5 years at Hogwarts surrounded by equals and superiors to him who were muggleborn, like Hermione) yet he didn’t, and he only started showing regret when he was faced with a moral dilemma such as murder. If he never had been tasked to kill Dumbledore, he wouldn’t have switched sides. I think he should have been given a more fleshed out redemption arc, but even then, I don’t like Draco at all. His upbringing DOES NOT EXCUSE his horrible prejudices and usage of slurs. I can’t emphasize that enough. If someone called me a slur I don’t give a fuck whether or not they were taught the racism/homophobia or learned it on their own. They should be held accountable for their actions, although obviously they can change later (but I, and no one else, should be expected to forgive them).

That’s why my blood boils when I read pro-Snape and pro-Draco posts (btw I want to say that Snape and Draco are both very interesting/complex characters. You can like the way they’re written without liking THEM). I would NEVER tolerate that sort of behavior in real life, and would staunchly avoid anyone who thinks it’s okay for people to just call me slurs and be forgiven. Also, Snily and Dramione are both horrible ships for the same reasons I just mentioned. Why the fuck would Lily/Hermione, brilliant muggleborn witches who never showed interest in Snape/Draco, the bigoted Death Eaters, go out with them? ESPECIALLY after being called slurs and having them both join an illegal organization that wants to wipe them off the planet? It’s disgusting how the Dramione fanbase saw two attractice actors and shoved the characters together just as self-inserts for Hermione (because you know they’re just lusting over Tom Felton).

Anyway, there’s my rant. I didn’t even take into account Snape’s bullying of Neville/outing of Remus because this is specifically a discussion on both of their involvements in the Dark Arts/other bigoted ideas.

This is not where Remus Lupin imagined himself at 35.

I think Sirius deserved to be imprisoned after he tried to kill Snape.

1. He didnt try to kill Snape on purpose. He was an idiot and played an extremely dangerous and messed up prank.

2. He was also 15 when it was done.

3. Snape should have been arrested for being a Death Eater and all the crimes that came with that.

4. Sirius spent 12 years in jail anyways, even though it was for some ish he didnt do.

If Sirius did that ish with intent on Snape being murdered, I would agree, despite hating Snape’s guts. But he didnt. And we dk if he was punished for it. Knowing who his head of house is and if she found out, he was more than likely punished for what he did.

Sirius:You were right, there is a werewolf there.

Snape:*thinks* I think I’ll go investigate someting that will probably kill me.

Sirius to James: There’s no way even Snivellus is that stupid.

James to Sirius: Yes, Snivellus is that stupid. *rescues the moron*

Snape: There are four seats at a table and we need to figure out where each person sits. There’s mary, will, you, and me. In which order should we sit?

Lily: Me, Mary, you, and Will.

Snape: Try again.

Lily: Me, Will, you, and Mary.

Snape:No…

Lily: As long as I’m as far from you as possible, I think the order is correct.

Snape defenders be like “He had just lost the love of his life, he was just acting on his emotions”

  • Well first of all he had already lost her when he called her a slur
  • And second of all, You know who else had lost the people they dearly loved but didn’t act “on their feelings”!?

SIRIUS BLACK.

REMUS LUPIN.

The only ship I ship more than Wolfstar is Snape x Azkaban dementor (snementor??). Like please I really need a scene of them kissing

Am I the only one who hates Snape so fucking much- like I came across a Snape fan account accidentally the other day and my blood started boiling and I got so angry just by seeing his picture. Like wtaf is up with that?

calling-all-jily:

Honestly, the whole “Snape was totally a meninist” or the “Snape’s whole backstory was that he was ‘friendzoned’” posts are REALLY starting to bother me.

I don’t love Snape. I think the way he treated Neville was absolutely inexcusable. I think he did a lot of horrible things.

But:

  • Snape was in love with Lily Evans, but he nevertold her that.
  • He never made a move on her.
  • He never asked her out.
  • He never tried to kiss her.
  • He wasn’t “friendzoned.” Lily never knew how he felt.
  • He didn’t give Harry those memories so that Harry would feel sympathetic towards him.
  • He gave Harry those memories so that Harry could 1) Understand why Dumbledore trusted Snape and 2) So that Harry would understand he needed to die in order to defeat Voldemort.
  • Lily Evans was the only person (except for maybe Dumbledore) who ever actually cared about him.
  • It’s strongly implied that Snape was abused or, at the very least, neglected, as a very young child.

I’m not defending all of his actions. But I do wish people would understand his motivation, and I really wish people would stop making posts like “Harry! Name your child after me! I was friendzoned by your mother!”

That’s not what happened. Snape was friends with Lily as a child. He fell in love with her. He didn’t tell her. He didn’t try to get her to date him. He loved her. He became a bad friend. He betrayed her. He regretted it. He tried to save her life. He failed. He tried to protect her child. He wanted to protect Harry for Lily’s sake. He wanted to at least partially make up for the way he treated Lily. That was his motivation, not “he was friendzoned.”

He isn’t a good person. He isn’t a bad person. He’s a person. A human being. That’s why Harry named his child Albus Severus – because the world is not divided into good people and Death Eaters. That’s something Harry didn’t learn for a long time. That’s what Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape taught him. Harry wanted his children to understand something he himself struggled with: good and evil are not always easy to see. Bravery does not always equal kindness. Unkindness does not always equal cruelty. Look at J.K’s characters, like Draco, Dumbledore, Snape, Sirius, and Ron, and you will see that is a major theme. PEOPLE ARE NOT HEROES OR VILLAINS. PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. THEY HAVE BOTH GOOD AND BAD QUALITIES. THAT IS ONE OF THE MAJOR POINTS OF THE ENTIRE SERIES.

You don’t have to like or respect Snape as a person, but please understand him as a character.

can we just talk about the time that Lupin was recovering from a full moon and Snape taught the DADA class and made all the students write essays on how to kill werewolves for Lupin to read when he got back I hate Snape so much it’s not funny

Lupin gets back and he feels like crap and suddenly his best friend’s son is writing an essay about how to kill him like that is so fucked up

Bear in mind that an ex-Death Eater does this tosomeone who was in the Order, risked his life fighting against said Death Eaters and lost his best friends to the Death Eater’s genocidal leader, for the sole purpose of screwing him over, and as far as we know he experiences no consequences whatsoever for doing so.

And if that wasn’t enough, he made them write those essays hoping some of them would realize Lupin’s a werewolf. And one did, but Hermione is a fucking DECENT HUMAN BEING and said nothing. Apparently the ‘insufferable know-it-all' can keep her mouth closed, when it’s for something important. Just like Snape didn’t do at the end of the book.

I’m getting mad, so here’s something I’ve realized while reading The Order of the Phoenix again. (Please keep in mind that my books are in Italian and some concepts might be hard to explain, I apologize for my English mistakes)

In chapter 14, when The Trio talked with Sirius, he said that two years before Dolores Umbridge had written a law against werewolves that made it almost impossible for Lupin to find a job.

Now ask yourself this question. Why two years?

What had happened two years before? During Harry’s third year? Oh, right. The Magical World had discovered that one of Hogwarts’ teachers (someone who was in constant conctat with their children)was a werewolf. Does that ring any bell?

But that’s not all! If we take a look at chapter 15, in the Daily Prophet article we can see a familiar name: Remus Lupin. In a newspaper. Where everyone can read it. “The werewolf Remus Lupin”. No wonder he couldn’t find a job!
And it’s not the first time the Daily Prophet has written about him, as it’s stated in the article itself. There must have been a huge scandal when it had all come out.

So basically, when Snape decided he couldn’t bear not having what he wanted (for example, SIRIUS BLACK GETTING KISSED BY A DEMENTOR) and spilled the secret, he didn’t only tell the whole school. He didn’t only tell the kids’ parents. The told the whole Magical World.

He told the whole Magical World that a man who had kept his condition secret all his life was a werewolf.

And the Magical World responded with a law against werewolves.

So, basically, Snape didn’t only ruin Remus Lupin’s life. He ruined the life of every single werewolf in the UK.

But, you know. Bravest man I ever knew.

Snape Haters: Welcome to the ‘Fuck Snape’ support group, where we gather to say a collective ‘fuck you’ to that pathetic excuse of a man.

Snape Haters: But first, a few words from our newest members.

Pro Snapers, sweating: So, I may have misunderstood-

Does anybody want to talk about Wolfstar raising Harry? Like… headcanons and stuff? Dm me if you want to bc I have no Potterhead (marauders fans) friends and I’m dying over here

I really want to write a marauder’s era fanfic but I don’t know whose POV I should write

legere-librum:

I can never understand how Snape apologetics can stand up for him when he CANONICALLY does this shit.

I can maybe, maybe, understand those who haven’t read the books standing up for him, because honestly the movies don’t cover all the horrible stuff he does. But those who have read the books and still stick up for him baffle me.

I mean, you don’t see anyone sticking up for the Dursley’s or Umbridge, when they do the same stuff to Harry as Snape. How is Snape any different?

darksoulgirl:

Considering how many of Snape’s traits Snivellous stans have (whiny, entitled, thinks everything bad is everyone else’s fault, bigoted, etc.), it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if most of them didn’t bother to wash their hair either.
