Hades: This is my wife Persephone, and these are Persephone’s girlfriends Minthe and Aphrodite. Then there’s Hephaestus who is Aphrodite’s husband and Ares who is her boyfriend. And that’s Ares’ boyfriend Apollo and his sister Artemis, who is also the girlfriend of Athena. Oh and that’s Artemis and Apollo’s mom Leto who is dating the mother of Athena, Metis. And she’s dating Maia who is Hermes’ mother and he is dating my worker Thanatos. Lets talk about something i havent seen shared in the witchcraft/polytheistic community.
STD’s/STI’s and the Gods.
I was diagnosed in November 2020 with HSV-2, aka, Genital Herpes.
It was hard to grasp. I remember sitting in excruciating pain in a room in the ER, in front of a nurse and an ob/gyn, trying not to ugly cry as a million thoughts ran through my head. I had so many questions, worries, thoughts, and fears. It felt like my world was crashing down.
Sometimes, it still feels that way.
But the biggest and scariest thing that made my chest ache with sadness and pain- was the fear that i couldnt and wouldnt ever be loved again.
I feel like theres this HUGE stigma against people who have been diagnosed with STD’s/STI’s that are both incurable and curable. Your whole world feels like its ending, and you might even feel gross or unlovable- or even worse, you might even question how your own deities feel about this.
Now, my point is this: your deities still and always will, love you. This is mostly directed to Aphrodite and her devotees who have any sexually transmitted diseases or infections. As a Goddess who partially specializes in sex and love, its easy to think she would be disappointed or upset. But ill say this once, and ill say it again, YOU ARE NOT YOUR ILLNESS.
Aphrodite loves all of her children. do you think shes spent any time shunning or being disappointed in any of them for an illness? NO! I can just IMAGINE her unleashing her absolute wrath on someone who would EVER make her children feel bad for an illness.
This goes for other Gods/Goddesses.
Deities love their children and i believe its so important we know that we will ALWAYS be loved by our deities. WE ARENT OUR ILLNESSES!
Concerning Aphrodite and STD’s/STI’s, i believe its important we know that we can still be loved. We can still find romance, sex, and pleasure of any kind. Aphrodite, almighty, is the Goddess of Love. how could we never find love again, if SHE LOVES US?! Im not even sure how to put it into words, properly. But i just truly believe she would cuddle you to sleep and tell you itll all be alright- and that shes cooking up something special and loving, just for you.
Your illness is not who you are. Embrace it. Fuck whoever tells you otherwise. Fuck it all! You are sexy, you are loved, you WILL (if you havent already) find love, and your deities love you. Always. Not “in spite” of it, but because of how it makes you, you.
STD’s and STI’s are just something you have, but they arent you. You arent disgusting. You are loved. Especially by your loved ones- and your deities.
Pour two cups of almond milk into the pan and put it on a medium heat
cut the cucumber (i did about half)
cut the acacado and mash it up to be as smooth as you can
put the cucumber, acacado (including the stone), a few pinches of cinnamon and some rosemary into the pan
keep stiring in a clockwise motion and bring to a simmer, changing the temperature if needed
pour your intention intention into it and say some affirmations that represent what you want to achieve. pray to aphrodite (or your chosen deity if you work with one) as well.
once the milk has turned a light green and you think it’s ready take it off the heat
filter the potion so you just have the liquid and put it in the container
You can use this as a body wash or put it on your face and leave it on and then wash it off. I used it to shave. Make sure you’re not allergic to it first .
how i celebrate Beltane whilst in lockdown for 2020
I started of the morning by making Gluten-free pancakes with my younger brother. He loves them and i’ve recently had to go Gulten free so we were trying them out. They were amazing!! I then got dressed into my red dress but had to wear a black top as well as it was so cold.
Later in the afternoon I made oat cookies for my family.
I also made a fruit smoothie for me and my mum but forgot to take any pictures to document it. I used fresh strawberries and bananas!
In the evening, I unpressed all the flowers i pressed to try a few weeks ago - id been leaving it until Beltane to do so!
I then made my offerings to the fae. It was honey, milk and some of my oat cookies. I left it under a beautiful flower in my garden that’s surrounded by our strawberry pots.
I also took a moment whilst outside to appreciate the sunset i could just see.
I then proceeded upstairs to write my wish letter to the Gods and Godesses i celebrated with today. (it’s only the title as i didn’t want to show it)
When i go to bed, i plan to fully pray to the Gods and thank them for a beautiful day!
