I came across this lovely tarot spread created by @eclectic-earth and had to give it a go - especially as i was feeling down at the time

PROTECTION SPELL BOTTLE

a simple spell bottle to protect yourself mentally, physically and spiritually

WHAT YOU NEED :

• salt - protection, purification
• cinnamon - protection, speeds up spells, courage
• rosemary - protection, purification
• chilli flakes - ward of unwanted energies
• bay - protection against hexes and curses
• basil- peace, protection, drive away evil
• ginger - make spells more powerful, protection
• black pepper - protection
• oak leaves- protection, wisdom
• egg shells - protection
• lavender - peace, healing, protection
• sage (please don’t use white sage) - protection, purification
• paper
• pen
• spell bottle jar
• candles : i used a white one and the also the wax from my deity candles on my alter

WHAT TO DO:

1. as always, ground yourself and cast a circle in the way you prefer
2. light all your candles, you can also light some insence if you’d like
3. in no particular order, add all your herbs into the jar (using a funnel - even if you make one from paper, can be really helpful), focussing on intent
4. create a sigil with the intent of protection using your own words and method. draw it on a small slip of paper, fold and add to the jar.
5. speak affirmations into the jar focusing on the protection of yourself ( or whoever will be wearing this). You can also repeat the statement used for the sigil
6. put the lid on and place the jar on something you can pour the candle wax onto.
7. pour all the candle wax onto your spell jar, allowing it to run down the sides and even create a pool at the bottom
8. allow the candle wax to mainly dry and remove the bottle. it is now done. i like to put the left lever wax that’s not attached on a wax melt thingy and melt it for further protection

WHAT YOULL NEED:

TO DO:

1. cast a circle, ground yourself and remove any negative energy from your space
2. create a sigil with the intent you wish: mine was focused on making a good first impression and being confident
3. write it on a bay leaf and put it inside the spell jar
4. add all the other ingredients
5. focus your energy and intent into the bottle making sure you’re staying positive
6. close off your spell jar and seal it with the orange wax
7. carry the spell jar with you when you need it

PERIOD DEDICATION FOR ARTEMIS

Artemis is a virgin Godesses and i’ve always associated her with my menstruatal cycle because it’s reflecting how i’m not pregnant etc. During my period this month, i decided to dedicate it to her.

On the first day, i light her a candle and put some walnuts and fresh blackberries in a bowl for her. she seemed to really like it!

Throughout the week i kept wearing my necklace that’s dedicated to her! I also thought about her and prayed to her quite a bit!

On the last day, i put all the remaining walnuts into a jar and placed them on my alter for her

PROTECTION FOR YOUR HOME “WASH”

a small mix to protect your home from negative energy, sickness and other harm

WHAT YOU NEED:

• rain water: cleansing, protection, purification
• full harvest moon water: purification, blessing, cleansing
• rosemary (dried and oil): protection, luck, purify, cleanse, remove worries, repel thieves
• ‘on guard’ oil mix: promote health, heal sickness, protection
• frankensense oil: purification, luck, protection
• basil: protection, wealth
• bay: protection, luck, wishes
• egg shell: protection
• sage (i used fresh leaves): protection, purification, cleansing
• black pepper: protection
• oak leaves: banishing, protection

WHAT TO DO:

1. mix all the ingridents into a bowl and find a clean wash cloth
2. soak the washcloth in it (don’t worry if some the herbs get on it)
3. wipe down all your doors or windows that lead into your house focusing on the intent of protecting you, your family and the house itself

BEAUTY POTION

a potion to make you look and feel your best: dedicated to aphrodite

WHAT YOU NEED:

• cucumber: beauty, healing, youth, aphrodite
• almond milk: beauty, luck, universal love
• cinnamon: healing, protection, love, lust, aphrodite
• avocado: beauty, luck, attraction, lust
• rosemary: love, protection, aphrodite
• a cauldron or pan to boil the liquid
• a jar to hold the liquid

WHAT TO DO:

1. Pour two cups of almond milk into the pan and put it on a medium heat
2. cut the cucumber (i did about half)
3. cut the acacado and mash it up to be as smooth as you can
4. put the cucumber, acacado (including the stone), a few pinches of cinnamon and some rosemary into the pan
5. keep stiring in a clockwise motion and bring to a simmer, changing the temperature if needed
6. pour your intention intention into it and say some affirmations that represent what you want to achieve. pray to aphrodite (or your chosen deity if you work with one) as well.
7. once the milk has turned a light green and you think it’s ready take it off the heat
8. filter the potion so you just have the liquid and put it in the container

You can use this as a body wash or put it on your face and leave it on and then wash it off. I used it to shave. Make sure you’re not allergic to it first .

BLACK LIVES MATTER SPELL

a spell of protection and justice for those protesting in response to black lives matter. i did this on the super moon of June 5th 2020

WHAT YOU NEED:

• a container
• a pencil
• paper (i used green for life)
• sharpie
• soil
• black and white candle
• honey : protection, healing, purity, to sweeten the world
• sage : wisdom, protection, good luck, emotional strength, heal grief
• mint (apple): protection, ward of negativity, recharge energy, well being
• lavender : cleansing, peace, protection, purification
• rosemary : love, protection, strength, cleansing, purifying , healing
• thyme : courage, heal grief, honour the dead, ward of negativity
• pumpkin seeds: lunar spells, to plant the spell and make it grow
• pink himalayan salt: love, protection
• salt: protection
• egg shells: protection
• rose petals: love
• Bay: healing, protection
• cinnamon: healing, protection, victory, love, speeds up spells, success

WHAT TO DO :

1. Light a white candle and pray to Ares. He is one of the most passionate Gods who fights for justice. As a God of War, he will be on the front lines with those fighting for justice. I also said a prayer I found online regarding this topic
2. Take your container and fill the bottom with soil. The place 3 pumpkin seeds on top of the soil. This represents how the spell will grow and bring a new world.
3. If fresh and not dried, put your sage and mint leaves around the containers edges to cover them.
4. Then put the rest of your ingredients in and drizzles some honey over it
5. Create a Sigil with the specific Intent you want.
6. Fold up your sigil and place it on top of the honey.
7. Place more soil over all the contents so it’s covered. Don’t worry if you can still see parts of the sage and mint leaves. This further reflects that representation.
8. Light your black candle and pour some of the wax onto the soil. Then pour some of the white candle ontop of the black, making sure there’s more white. This shows the light and justice winning over darkness and hate.
9. Close the lid focusing on intent.
10. Draw the sigil you made ontop of the lid in sharpie and write BLM under it.

MY BELTANE 2020

how i celebrate Beltane whilst in lockdown for 2020

I started of the morning by making Gluten-free pancakes with my younger brother. He loves them and i’ve recently had to go Gulten free so we were trying them out. They were amazing!! I then got dressed into my red dress but had to wear a black top as well as it was so cold.

Later in the afternoon I made oat cookies for my family.

I also made a fruit smoothie for me and my mum but forgot to take any pictures to document it. I used fresh strawberries and bananas!

In the evening, I unpressed all the flowers i pressed to try a few weeks ago - id been leaving it until Beltane to do so!

I then made my offerings to the fae. It was honey, milk and some of my oat cookies. I left it under a beautiful flower in my garden that’s surrounded by our strawberry pots.

I also took a moment whilst outside to appreciate the sunset i could just see.

I then proceeded upstairs to write my wish letter to the Gods and Godesses i celebrated with today. (it’s only the title as i didn’t want to show it)

When i go to bed, i plan to fully pray to the Gods and thank them for a beautiful day!

FACE MASK

a witch face mask for clear skin and happiness

GATHER:

• honey - cleansing, sweetness, beauty, rejuvenation
• toothpaste (no mint and do a patch test first) (i used normal toothpaste as i know it doesn’t burn me but that might not be the same for you) or oatmeal
• cinnamon - healing, love

1. mix all the ingredients together focusing on the intent
2. apply the mask to your face evenly and leave on for around 20 minutes
3. wash off and apply moisturiser

i can not be held liable for any skin damage that may happen if you use this due to the toothpaste. it worked very well for me and i’ve been using it for years for blackhead control but if it doesn’t for you, i can not be blamed. (nothing should happen but if you have sensitive skin or your toothpaste is mint or strong, don’t use toothpaste and go for the oatmeal instead. I just want to keep that i used toothpaste so i know)

HONESTY SPELL JAR

a request for @3vil-angel to give the holder the ability to speak the truth even in hard situations

GATHER:

a spell to bring romantic love your way

GATHER :

• rose petels - love
• basil - love, protection
• strawberry leaves
• rosemary - love, friendship

• pen
• red (or white or pink ) tea light
• jar that can fit tea light in it (i used an old empty candle jar i’d offered to aphrodite)

1. draw a sigil for attracting romance - try to be specific about age and any other qualities (i said general age and for them to be mature)
2. put all the ingridents into the container
3. fold the sigil and charge it with your intent and call upon any appropriate dieties (i asked aphrodite as usual)
4. put the paper on top of the other ingridents and then light the tea light and put it on the paper (i took mine out the case so as it melt it will go on the paper and ingredients
5. everytime you light the candle, ask the dieties for help and picture the love you want (do this until candle runs out)

this won’t attract a specific person (unless done in sigil but not recommended)

HOLIDAY MUSINGS

i love going on holiday but i miss my alters. i miss my daily rituals and offerings. i miss being able to do spells and rituals whenever i want and have all my materials at arms reach. i miss how close i feel to my gods when home.

i love going on holiday, but i love the feeling of home more.

LAMMAS 2019

how i celebrated my first holiday in this religion

i cut up an apple and placed it in a clay bowl. i filled a small glass jar with flour and sprinkled mixed spice and sunflower seeds on top. then i placed a candle on top of it. i also lit an incense.

i offered all of this to Demeter for the harvest. i also read about her in two books i have from the library to honour and learn more about her.

overall i believe it was a success. i hope you all had a wonderful lammas.

(i fed the fruit to my rabbit and burried the contents of the jar)

LIKE A LOVE NOTE

a spell to make a happy love come to you

GATHER :

• envelope
• fire safe dish
• pen
• paper
• basil - luck
• rose petels - love
• eggshell - protection
• rosemary - love and friendship

1. call upon any dieties or spirits you wish to work with ( i used Aphrodite and Eros )
2. write them a letter about what type of love and person you want to attract and kiss it three times as you fold it
3. decorate the envelope and place the letter inside
4. place in the basil and say “ take this basil leaf and let a peaceful love grow, a calm and tender love i shall know”
5. place the rose in and say “ as roses grow upon the bush, the love i find will not feel any rush”
6. place the eggshell in and say “ take this eggshell with its colour so white (don’t worry if it’s not white), and let this love be protected even through the night”
7. place in the rosemary and say “i ask you to feel the love for me as i do for you, and make a love for me that is new”
8. place the paper in the fire safe bowl and say “by fires light and all that’s rights, let this love i seek come to me”
9. repeat the incantation as you light the paper and as it burns
10. bury the ashes or whatever won’t burn and repeat the incantation
11. place an an offering on your alter or work space for the dieties (i used a rose incense)

LOVE SPELL JAR

a spell jar to get the person you like to ask you out if the feelings mutual

GATHER:

• small container (i used an old heart eye-shadow container)
• paper
• pen
• rosemary = love
• basil = good luck, love
• cinnamon (i used powder) = good luck, love
• candle (i used a white one)
• rose quartz (optional)
• offering plate (optional)

1. light your candle and write in the paper : i wish that (crush’s name) will ask me to be his (girl for me) friend
2. fold it and put it inside the container
3. put the basil, rosemary and cinnamon into the container and shut the lid
4. take your candle and put some wax on the top
5. once the wax is still liquid but not burning hot out your finger on it and pray to your dieties whilst focusing your energy to make your wish come true if the feelings mutual (i prayed to aphrodite)
6. remove your finger and seal as best you can the jar edges
7. (optional) use your pendulum and talk to your dieties. (i used my rose quartz necklace but i couldn’t seem to focus on it so stopped) or hold the rose quartz and focus your intent on the spell
8. (optional) place any left over herbs (for me the rosemary), the jar and crystal on an offering plate by your bed or on your alter

some may find this manipulative magick. make sure when you’re doing the spell you tell your chosen deity for it to only work if the feelings mutual and that asking you out is not going to put harm on the person mentally or physically. however ultimately everyone’s magical morals are different so do what you thinks right or what you want

NIGHT PRAYER - THEOI

a prayer to say to the theoi at night. it’s originally from christianity.

“ as i lay me down to sleep

i pray the theoi my soul to keep

gods guard me through the night

and keep me safe till morning light “

RETURN LOST ITEMS

this is a simple incantation to find what is lost

“keeper of what disappears,

i call to the to ease my fears.

it holds my mind,

consumes my thoughts,

so guide me to what i have lost”

for best results try retracing the steps of where you lost the item. if you can’t find it in the place you’re looking pray to your deities (for me the theoi) and place it out of your mind. it will eventually show up.

BEAUTY ROSE WATER

this is an aphrodite inspired/dedicated rose water glamour

GATHER:

• fresh rose petels
• boiling water
• spray bottle
• jar/bowl

1. fill the bowl with boiling water and place inside your fresh rose petels
2. mix in the rose petels in a clock wise motion and visualise a glowing light filling the jar. also visualise what effect you want.
3. (optional but i did) pray to aphrodite and dedicate the water to her. ask her to grant you with beauty,love etc every time you spray it
4. let the petels sit for around 15 minutes then remove the petels and our water into jar
5. when you need a boost or to refresh yourself spray over your face

PLOUTONION, ELEUSIS

located in athens, greece, ploutonion is said to be the place where Hades appeared to “abduct” the daughter of Demeter, Persephone.

from that exact spot, he guided her to his underworld kindgdom where he made her his queen.

the cave is said to lead directly to the underworld and before the cave is the ruins of a temple dedicated to Hades (pluton)

what are some witchy books that are pretty inconspicuous?

as a closeted witch it’s hard getting books that alway have the words witchcraft/witches/magick, etc., have a pentacle, etc.

Madeline Miller’s Song of Achilles and Circe, American Gods and Norse Mythology by Neil Gaimen, Any Shakespeare play, And The lord of the rings (I have somehow never read it and I’m finally giving in to peer pressure)

Any recs would be welcome, but my parents are buying them and they’re homophobic Christian conservatives so if it’s pagan or queer it has to be sneaky.
