#sabbath
My old art with witches from our local folklore, wearing black and red striped cloth called zapaska świętokrzyska. I was one of those strange kids fascinated with them.
According to legends every year witches celebrated Sabbath on the top of Bald Mountain nearby. There was once an old Slavic temple, then a church and a national park, now just a church and a bunch of irresponsible people devastating the nature after borders of the park have been moved.

Celebrating Ostara
SPRING EQUINOX | March 19-22
️Decorations: flowers, butterfly, eggs, baskets, four-leaf clovers
Incense: rose, sage, jasmin, lavender, lemongrass, lilac
Food: honey, banana, eggs, milk, seeds and nuts, green vegetables, quiche, lavender lemonade
The fairies are really busy at the spring equinox, looking after the flowers that are nearly blooming. Ostara is a goddess who represents dawn. Night and day are of equal length but the year is now waxing and light is about to defeat the darkness, and celebrate its own fertility.
Rituals to celebrate:
With people, gather in a circle to set intentions for togetherness, fertility and abundance.
️In the kitchen, bake honey cakes and banana bread.
Get crafty, by making a bird feeder for your garden or decorating eggs to put on your altar.
Dress up, with spring colors: whites, bright, and floral patterns.
Write in your journal, about negative thoughts that you are choosing not to bring with you in the coming spring.
Meditate, about what fertility and growth means to you.
Other ideas to celebrate:
- Plant and gather flowers.
- Do some research on herbs and their properties.
- Start a new project (creative, personal or professional).
- Spend as much time in nature as possible.
- Reconnect with animals by going to a farm or an ethical zoo.
Blessed Ostara witches!
️ Celebrating Imbolc ️
CANDLEMAS | February 1
️Decorations: white flowers, candles, seeds, daffodils, broom, cross
Incense: vanilla, basil, bay leaves, hay, straw, wormwood, jasmin
Food: crêpes, poppy seeds muffins, sunflower seeds, waffles, scones, garlic, onions, chia seeds
Imbolc means “in the belly”, and it is the time when life stirs in the belly of earth. It is a feast of lightness and brightness, but also a time for cleansing, to make way for the new. It is sacred to the celtic goddess Brigid, as she is associated as a deity with spring, fertility, healing, light and poetry.
Rituals to celebrate:
With people, have a walk outside and look for signs of spring’s return.
️In the kitchen, bake poppy seed muffins.
Get crafty, by weaving a Brigid’s cross.
Dress up, using white and bright outfits to celebrate the return of light.
Write in your journal, how you plan to take care of nature and the environment this year.
Meditate, about what healing means to you.
Other ideas to celebrate:
- Start planting your garden.
- Declutter and clean your living space to prepare for spring.
- Light white candles to invite the sun to come back.
- Open the windows to let fresh air in.
- Make a cleansing spray to lift up your spirit.
Blessed Imbolc everyone!

Let me know your posts requests for 2021, I would be happy to share the knowledge I have as a practicing witch for almost 6 years! Love you all ❤️
I hope you had a great Yule and a merry Christmas!
Even though New Year’s Eve is not part of the witches’ sabbats, or the pagan’s wheel of the year, many witches still decide to celebrate December 31st. Here are a few ideas to make this night a bit more witchy and magical…
Make New Year’s resolutions, and note them in your grimoire or book of shadows. Draw magical sigils to ensure strength and success.
Use kitchen witchcraft to infuse all your ambitions and good intentions for the new year into baked goods and NYE cocktails.
Make a 12-card Tarot spread, to reveal what you should focus on every month of next year.
Cleanse your home. If you want inspiration, find here my post on cleansing using the 4 elements.
Practice candle magic by lighting a white candle, which represents purity and new beginnings, at midnight and whispering your hopes for 2021 to the flame.
Write a letter to your future self, to open next New Year’s Eve, as a way to reflect on what you hope to happen within the year. You can write a physical letter or use FutureMe.org.
Be loud! Make as much noise as possible, especially at midnight, to scare away bad energies for the new year.
Open windows and/or doors at midnight, to let the old energies of 2020 go, and to bring in new and positive intentions.

What a way to call in the new season. It really is starting to feel like autumn. Happy Mabon, and best wishes to all this reaches
