LIVE

What would you guys like to know more about? I have a couple post ideas lined up and in progress, but I’m curious to know what everyone’s burning questions are!
Even just stuff like clarifications or another good mythological story summary are fine by me, just comment or reblog and let me know! :)

For any witch who doesn’t know, these signs DO invite the fae, especially when you set things around them like this person set a coin on the sign:

I won’t reiterate my entire fae post, but generally it is a poor idea to make deals with the fae. So unless you specialize in working with them and know EXACTLY what you’re doing, please watch out for these!! Especially in thew spring, these little garden décor things are rampant!

If you want to make a little fae garden without actually attracting anything, do not:

  • accept or leave out food or drinks for them
  • make a faery ring
  • write letters to them
  • verbally invite them, even as a joke
  • insult them in some way
  • give them your personal information like your name (see my fae post)

Here’s another tumblr user who has an amazing post about the fae and is a well educated fae witch - https://phae-undergrove.tumblr.com/post/676918896423550976/faeries

You can look in thrift stores for old objects that seem powerful, sometimes they have candles too! Not only is it environmentally friendly compared to buying all new stuff, but you can also utilize the old magic to make something new and possibly connect with something new!
Recycling is very good, it’s a nice way of giving back to nature!

A couple things to keep in mind:

  • Absolutely keep in mind the auras/general vibes of each item you want to get and take home
  • Cleanse things when you get home, even if you like the aura; just keep in mind you want to keep that part as you’re cleansing and your intentions should be set properly

Perfect for ceremonies and rituals and leaving on your ancestor Altar Homemade Amish Sweet BreadIngr

Perfect for ceremonies and rituals and leaving on your ancestor Altar

Homemade Amish Sweet Bread

Ingredients
2 cups water
2/3 cups sugar
1 ½ tablespoons yeast
1 ½ teaspoons salt
¼ cup vegetable oil
5 ½ to 6 cups all-purpose flour

1. Heat 2 cups of water to 110°F. If you don’t have a thermometer try this tip. It works every time. Heat up ½ cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl for one minute. This will boil the water. Then add tap water from the faucet until you reach 2 cups of water.

2. Add the sugar to the water you just heated and stir it.

3. Add the yeast to the sugar water and let it sit for exactly 10 minutes. It will become frothy. See before and after photos below.

4. Mix in the oil and salt into the yeast liquid.

5. Slowly add one cup of flour at a time to this yeast mixture. You might not use all of the flour. It depends on how wet the dough is towards the end. You want to get to a good non-sticky dough consistency and it will form a ball.

6. Once the dough forms a ball, you will need to knead the dough for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the surface with flour before you begin. When you feel the dough get sticky, sprinkle more flour over the top of the dough as you are kneading it. When this process is over you should be able to lift a small piece of the dough without it tearing.

7. Spray a large bowl with non-stick cooking oil and place the dough into the bowl. Cover this bowl with a damp towel.

8. Let this dough rise for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

9. After the dough has risen, punch the middle part of the dough and pull the dough from the sides of the bowl.

10. Use a dough cutter and split the dough into two equal parts and place them in a greased loaf pan

11. Let these loaves sit uncovered for another 3o minutes to rise again.

12. Now place them in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until they are cooked thoroughly.

Orisha Altars

The Orisha altar is normally in the house of worship (casa templo) which is normally where the Santería priest/priestess also known as (santero or santera) would live it would be a room in their house that would be private to people other than the practitioner of that temple, This altar is for the orisha, These altars are considered to be expensive and time-consuming. Blessed items and relevant items to the orisha are placed on the altar, it is also possible for practitioners to have altars to specific orisha in their own home. These altars typically have porcelain vessels, often tureens, which contain various sacred items, most notably the otán stones, These Stone are regarded as both containing and representing the orisha the stones are treated as being alive they are one of the highest regarded tools in santeria.

Spirit Altars

The Spirit altar is one that you can find in almost any Practitioners home this altar is set up with white laces or fabric With Family photos, Heirlooms, candles to honor their family ancestors these altars are more personal than being particular

The first known and recorded witch ladder found was in an old house in Wellington, Somerset England which was demolished in 1878, while Charles Godfrey Leland had gotten word of the wellington witches ladder whilst he was in Italy he decided to do some research himself in Italy. later to find out that they used a similar item in Italy know by the name “Witches Garland” made up of some of the same items such as Cord, Black hen feathers, and small bones from multiple small animals, and human hair of the one your bewitching/cursing.

While in modern 21st century Wicca and witchcraft a witch’s ladder is a rope and or a cord with 3, 9, or 13 knots with feathers, bones, and beads. And can be used for a multitude of spell casting protection, cursing, healing, breaking curses, and more. While making the withes ladder with each knot a spell is recited to tie in your spell work, for a witch’s ladder spell to be undone the ladder must be destroyed such as by fire, undoing the knots, or dismembering it by a sharp instrument’. Most importantly it’s a simple way of working magic into your life whether it be protection or a simple wishing spell.

photo is not mine its for reference.

War water is typically made up of rusty water, Nails, Moss, and sometimes Pins/needles, Urin, Blood, and or Graveyard dirt.

War water can be used to send a curse back at someone that has caused you harm or ill intent, war water can also be used when trying to get rid of a pesky Spirit or entity, this also works with trying to break Habits you take the war water add a part of the habit, such as if it’s smoking then a few cigarettes’ if its drinking add a few shots of liquor an Etc and then seal up the jar and seal with wax and bury. war water can also help with stalkers with writing a simple chant and sticking it in a jar with the war water and sealing it and burying it.

War water is used Hoodoo/Voodoo and also Appalachian granny magic, You can find similar details in England and Ireland with Witch jars most times war water is added to these jars to add a little extra kick in the Witches spell, most times these are used to protect one’s land and or home.

Side Note: Make sure Graveyard dirt is From a family cemetery or is ethically sourced, and always be respectful of any type of magic your working with whether it be baneful or loving.(Any questions please just ask ill be more than happy to answer to the best of my ability)
(Also remember this is not a cure-all Health and or Law issues must be taken through the proper channels this is to be used as an extra aid in the matter.)
  (I do not own the photo) If you know whos it is please Message me so i can credit;

The story of Saint Dunstan goes back to the 10th. Dunstan (was a blacksmith at the time) and was visited by the devil himself. The hoofed devil asked for a horseshoe for himself. So then, Dunstan had used iron nails to secure a red hot horseshoe tightly to one of his hooves, and the devil howled in great pain. The devil begged for Dunstan to remove the hot shoe. so he had agreed under only one condition that the devil must respect the horseshoe and never enter any place where one was hung above the door.

Horseshoes also have 7 holes usually cause of the number being lucky as well.

This is also why it’s so popular in western cultures, in Whats called granny magic/witchcraft, and a lot of Appalachian witchcraft.
