If you need a reminder to search the internet for any possible fanart someone made of your series long ago, this is it! (be sure to reblog so this hits other peoples’ dashes!! You can reblog more than once!

I say this because I wondered if anyone made fanart of my series QOH or EpicAdventures and found this piece on deviantart done in 2017!!

image

And I JUST NOW noticed it!! Who knows what else could’ve been out there that I missed?? I got so excited about finding it because OMG!! OLD FANART!! (Really, the emotion isn’t too expressible in words other than the fact I wanted to scream out of joy lol)

Thus, I think you all should look for old fanart people made for your things too!! You deserve that happiness!

they should invent water for men

Good news OP

While this is a funny joke, as far as I’m aware this company is actually pretty cool, and the purpose behind the Liquid Death (sparkling or still) water is quite wholesome.

Part of the reason for it being a tallboy is that aluminum cans are more recyclable than water bottles, potentially infinitely so, while water bottles either have a limited amount of recyclability potential or aren’t actually recyclable at all.

The other reason is to literally make it more fun and appealing to drink something other than alcohol at concert venues. Part of getting over addiction or even getting away from a culture that is doing you harm is, in the US at least, heavily associated with becoming “no fun”. The idea here is to make water as fun in terms of packaging as alcohol, so people who are going sober, who can’t drink, or who are the Designated Driver don’t have to feel like they’re relegated to the “no fun zone” forever and still get to order something with a silly name. We had these at my brother’s wedding as an alcohol alternative and tbh it was really neat.

From the Liquid Death website:

“Most products in the health and wellness space are all marketed with “aspirational” fitness models and airbrushed celebrities. And many of us are tired of it. Why should unhealthy products be the only brands with “permission” to be loud, fun, and weird? And let’s be honest, almost all marketing and branding is just theater. So we’re going to treat our theater like a movie theater and have more fun with it.”

So yeah! If you want a neat alternative to buying bottled water, this isn’t a bad alternative. Also, if you feel like you miss the feeling of opening a can of beer and drinking one, especially with carbonation, this could help curb the urge without having to substitute soda.

Oh. So it was a stand against single use plastic, alcoholism culture, and eating disorders disguised as fitness.

saying this, she casually threw aside a large rock

I think this is pretty neat!

The new works by Yannick Val Gesto are more personal than ever. Val Gesto became known for his work on internet culture, in which he appropriated and reworked deviant art and game aesthetics. As data anthropologist of sorts, he roamed the internet for material, with a special preference for game culture, memes and ‘deviant art’ found on forums and message boards. Many of his works are a testimony to the richness of internet culture, the radical democracy –or anarchy– of the medium, full of rough diamonds, and its non-hierarchical amalgam of creative expressions.

Val Gesto’s work has always been characterized by both information overload, and a desire for simplicity. The net’s rich content has a dark side: digital obesity. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), too much of a good thing. A Digital Detox is required: dealing with the overwhelming flood of visual information sometimes requires a radical intervention.

Val Gesto is increasingly focusing on this line in his work. In his words: “Away from FOMO, away from fixations, away from information overload.” Also: away from the internet-based source material. The drawings that form the basis of his new work –paintings!– were made on a whiteboard in a homely environment – in Val Gesto’s own home. It doesn’t get much more personal.

Our home, where little things matter, our intimate living environment, its walls and roof protecting us from the world out there. But it is also where we can observe the world online 24/7. The domestic life of cooking, chatting and making coffee, boredom and minor irritations, Google and Netflix. A whiteboard on the kitchen wall – shopping lists, last year’s holiday photos clamped on it with magnets. The genesis of Val Gesto’s new works.

Val Gesto drew simple doodles on his whiteboard, unpretentious, at random moments during the day or evening. Made in the moment, ready to be wiped out as easily as they came to be. The charm of a clumsy, quasi-amateurish “outsider” aesthetic that we know from Val Gesto’s deviant art appropriations is still present, albeit coupled with a much more personal touch.

He then photographed the drawings (simply, with a mobile phone) and digitally reworked them, giving them a raw, graphic quality that is reminiscent of the xerox aesthetic of old DIY fanzines. Lifted out of their fleeting existence, Val Gesto took it upon himself to manually transfer his designs to the canvas. For the first time in his career, Val Gesto turned to painting as his medium of choice.

This experiment towards painting marks a desire for authenticity. There is no faking it. Unlike digital work, in painting the steps cannot really be reversed. All traces are visible, ‘whiting out’ an element on a painting does not produce the same result. With these works, Val Gesto dares to be vulnerable.

‘Meditation, Love’. ‘Fixated mind creates a prison box’. There is a therapeutic theme running through these works as if the artist invites us to join him in a meditation group session. Or laughing therapy. There is a sense of reconnecting to the ‘real’, but it is not without friction. the wilfully naive happiness that Val Gesto seeks to express seems to disintegrate on the canvas. The figures are happy, but unsophisticated, tough and fragile at the same time. Val Gesto paints humanity’s current state: playground on the remnants of a digital disaster. The personal is, sometimes, very universal indeed.

I have always known I’m not very observant of my surroundings, as I’ve mentioned before, but today I was surprised to learn how unaware I also was of my own body.

I’ve been reading a book: The Definitive Guide to Body Language by Alan and Barbara Pease and it’s remarkable how little you notice about your own physical movements. This time however, I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.

I’ve always been quite intuitive, like most of my female counterparts according to Alan and Barbara, but I’ve never realised what it is that makes me feel so strongly that someone is being genuine, lying, stuck up etc so after the book was suggested to me I thought I’d take a peek.

As you’d expect, it points out all the obvious things, what the different signals are, what they mean and how that changes depending on the cluster and context at the time but throughout it says to practice it yourself / be aware of what your doing and to use that to get a better outcome… Blah blah blah.

Well. I was very surprised to suddenly start second guessing every move I made from then on!

Recommend the read!

Procrastination has become a real problem and affects millions of students around the world. I propose the binge-procrastination challenge to raise awareness for this very serious problem.

So lately I’ve seen a lot of posts rejecting the trans boy stereotype, meaning that of a “soft” white, thin, feminine, young, usually-gay and able-bodied person and instead drawing more attention to the older and more conventionally (hyper) masculine and “manly” members of our community.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I think positivity for trans guys of all descriptions is important and I’m glad we’re expanding on this, but we have a long way to go! Trans guys are more than “soft boys” or “manly men” and we need to be aware of this and try our best to lift each other up!

My issue is that our examples of masculinity are still very narrow either way. Trans guys aren’t as simple as all that!

Trans guys aren’t just white, thin, able-bodied teens or even twenty-somethings. I want visibility and an awareness of the existence of boys and men of color, guys of various races and ethnic backgrounds who so often get passed over. Fat trans guys, trans guys with physical disabilities and chronic illnessses, neurodivergent guys! Body politics and accessibility advocacy are things this community severely lacks. I also want to just give a huge shoutout to trans guys of all sexualities; whether you’re gay, straight, bi, pan, poly, ace, queer, however you call yourself, you are loved. By me!

I also just want to acknowledge, even though I’m pretty much that first “soft boy” stereotype minus the able-bodied part, I am such a tiny sampling of the traits a transmasculine person can have.

Trans guys can be binary or non-binary, fat or thin, of any race or ethnicity, and with any disability, neurotype, or mental illness. They can be men in their 70s or five-year-old boys or anywhere between and beyond.

They can be athletes or math nerds or both or neither. Heck, they can be theater kids. They can be addicts, they can be survivors, they can have eating disorders and abuse stories and traumas. They can be artists and philosophers. They can practice any religion or none at all or be undecided. They can be sex workers or former sex workers. They can be feminists. They can be out and proud or closeted or still questioning.

They can be found in suits, or dresses, or flannels with skinny jeans, or Catholic-school uniforms, or hospital gowns, or cozy pullover sweaters. They can be single, married, fathers, grandfathers, uncles. They can be in relationships with a loving partner, or multiple!  They can have literally any story and they all deserve to be acknowledged.

A single trans guy can be anything and together we are everything and I never see this talked about, not fully, and I still haven‘t done a proper job of it but I had to start somewhere! I’m still young and new to this community myself, so my knowledge is limited but it is growing and I want to see this place become someplace welcoming for all trans boys and men.

I know this post far from includes everyone but I tried my best, I’m tired and emotional but I tried my best and please add anything I’ve missed because every transmasculine experience is unique and deserves more attention in this place. I love all of you, boys and men. Please talk, and please listen to each other.

(1) Hello everyone. I’m from Ukraine. Please help spread the information about African and Nigerian students in Ukraine. #AfricansinUkraine

I read from @ nzekiev on twitter that the day before yesterday it was very hard for Africans to get on any train in Kyiv, they were letting them in the last, many managed to get in only coz they started pushing African women into the train so they had to allow everyone in. Before that if they managed to get on the train they were sent back outside with the phrase “Ukrainians first”, but nobody was checking anyone’s passports.

Today, February 27, he says the Ukrainian soldiers at the Polish border were holding them at gunpoint if they crossed the border before Ukrainians. These are students, they can’t be fighting this war!!! A Nigerian medical student told @ stephheharty they were told Ukrainians go first and were sent to the back of the queue by Ukrainian soldiers on Polish border.

@ Damilare_arah shared a video where Ukrainian soldiers block Africans from getting on trains. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497654141350522880?t=rkNx-B9TffKopCRtfgZodA&s=19)

I can’t figure out how to download videos from Twitter so I’m attaching screenshots. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497855205098106880?t=gi_dUgx8nFI36KqlH-CeEA&s=19) (https://twitter.com/nzekiev/status/1497805019311218689?t=hz-3gS0hFxwAZQddLZI85w&s=19)

We must help. They can’t be denied shelter while every other white Ukrainian gets to cross the border right before their eyes. @ chylady and @ Damilare_arah share all the important information for Africans and Nigerians on where to find help and also donations.

@ korrinesky is actively sharing all the information. This thread increases to this day and time:

They also have a Telegram chat for African and Caribbean students who are in Lviv but I can’t seem to be able to copy the link directly so I’m sending the link to the tweet:

Use the hashtag #AfricansinUkraine and mentions @UN @RedCross @UNESCO @wateraid @amnesty @gatesfoundation @FordFoundation @ActionAid @Oxfam on twitter.

Millie the Guinea Pig <3

Did you know Guinea Pigs are also subject to becoming Easter gifts? I didn’t either until I spoke with a pet store employee the other day and heard that they are purchased with the same frequency as rabbits around Easter time.

Help stop the madness. Spread the word that animals are living creatures, not things to give as gifts. No matter their species, they all need us to speak for them.

Some of us need #narcotic #painmanagement just to live in our own bodies, because our #pain is so severe. This makes the one-sided #media hype about the #opioidcrisis dangerous and damaging to us, because it makes this prescription #medication more difficult to obtain from scared doctors and hospitals, even from pain-management specialists. Finding a pain-management #doctor who is comfortable managing a #patient with narcotic medication, even when no other treatment has been effective, is increasingly difficult, and may sometimes be impossible. #ChronicPain patients who can’t find help for pain are at risk for #suicide.
If you are in pain, you have the right to medical intervention. If you are a member of the media, you have a responsibility to report with balance and accuracy. If you are a doctor, you have a duty to treat patients with the appropriate medication for each patient’s needs, not your own, even if that means managing a narcotic.

hello vegans, hello non-vegans

As a Vegan I didn’t put my content out here to win arguments. My Tumblr was aimed for vegans to supplying them a page full of vegan quotes, vegan memes, basic information and so on. My Tumblr wasn’t aimed for non-vegans to attack them. I don’t care about winning or losing an argument,
as a vegan I simply want toend animal abuse
for it is not necessary
in today’s society andtherefore
morally wrong to keep doing so.
We have plenty of evidence that eating animals and their secretions (milk, eggs, honey etc) is detrimental for our planet and human health. And it certainly causes billions of animals to suffer yearly and go extinct which leads to devastating our ecosystem even more and therefore endangers the survival for our own species along with the animals kingdom.

As a human I am humiliated that we still treat animals in horrific ways, that we don’t take care of our planet and still engage in human wars. I strive to live in peace and kindness. I wasn’t born vegan, I was obligated to eat meat as a child and mocked when I went vegetarian, yet in my twenties I educated myself and became fully vegan (thanks to Gary Yourofsky’s speech video on youtube) .

There is no excuse for animal abuse.

I notice that when non-vegans come across my tumblr, they tend to get offended and feel the need to throw shade at me, personally or towards all vegans. I honestly don’t understand this need to be hateful, but I feel sad that they’ve been lied to their whole lives by the capitalizing industries in spite of their health. Yet because we share our unaware history (through our parent’s generation), I don’t hate hateful non-vegans, I simply feel sorry that they aren’t open for new information. All vegans needed to learn the truth eventually about the meat, dairy and egg industries. And later on about: vivisection, wool, honey, gelatin, silk, goose down or duck down, circus, zoos etc

We’ve been lied to, and that is something we have in common.

You can either accept that you’ve been wrong in the past, evolve as a human being and adapt towards a vegan lifestyle, or
keep the status quo: repeat the lies we’ve been miseducated since childhood (at home, at school, on television..) about the (so called) “benefits” or “need” for: milk, eggs, meat, fish..
etc.
so you can ease your consciousness, trying to “justify” the mass-slaughter you participate by paying, with your money, in order to keep feeding your harmful addiction of meat, cheese, bacon and eggs…

It is wrong.

And therefore vegans will speak up on behalf of the victims: the animals.

It’s sad that there is such a need to attack vegans when in fact there is a global problem going on that most of us keep ignoring. This distracts every individual from their personal responsibility to make the world a better place for yourself, your children, your loved ones, and those you have nothing in common with as well.

Your government isn’t concerned with the educating what is true, government is being paid by those who want to keep you in the dark so you keep doing whatever they want you to do, and cash in on your unawareness.

I know many of us consider themselves as animal-lovers, yet they overlook one thing: there is a dead animal on your plate. And if by any chance you are already a vegetarian, ask yourself “what happens to the male chicks in the egg industry?”, ask yourself “does a cow die for making cheese?”
