Update!

I’ve finally uploaded my first downloadable product to my Ko-Fi! It’s a simple list geared towards beginners and baby witches, sold at $5. There are 34 of my most commonly used herbs, spices, and kitchen or green magic ingredients listed with their benefits and a few suggested uses!

[Image description: a screenshot of a PDF document titled “34 Common Kitchen Herbs Master List”. Underneath is: “Written, researched, and condensed by your friend, Ander”. Underneath that in smaller text in italics is: “Note: keep in mind that while some herbs can promote healing, never use witchcraft to replace your Doctor, and take prescribed medications as instructed”. Under that is a decorative line of two ivy branches. A few spaces lower is the word “Herb”, followed by a much smaller ivy branch line, which is above the words “Benefit ✬ Benefit ✬ Benefit” in italics. Then there is: “Suggested usage: here are some of my personal favorite ways to use this herb. There are other ways to use this herb, of course, but sometimes other ideas can be helpful too”. End description.]

Here’s thelink to the product, and here’s a link to my Ko-Fi home page in case you want to take a look at my other commissions.

Each herb and its description are from my own personal grimoire/book of shadows (whatever you so call it, I just call it “my book”). Each one was cross-referenced across several different sources and each suggested use is one I use frequently whenever I have the option to. It’s on standard printer paper and super easy to print, hole punch for a binder, etc.

I hope someone finds it useful! Please reblog, share, and spread as much as you can. Blessed be, friends <3

Honeysuckle Spell to Dream of Love and Passion

You’ll need:

  • A red candle
  • 3 honeysuckle branches for Vines

Between the onset of spring and Midsummer, honeysuckle flowers are typically in blue. Their strong, sweet scent is associated with passionate love, as well as dreams and intuition. If you want to feel about your lover - real or potential do the spell at night, right before you go to bed. Try to do it on a Monday if possible.

Light the candle besides your bed, and twist the honeysuckle vines around one another, being careful not to knock the flowers leaves. As you do, say “Sweet as honey, below and above, send me to the dreams of love. Show my lover’s adoring face, and wrap me up in my lover’s embrace.”

Tuck the honeysuckle beneath your pillow, blow out the candle, and dream of your lover.

Place the wrapped photo in the jar and put on the lid, then bury it on the north side of your home. It’s a person’s Behavior improves and you wish to release the binding, simply dig up the jar and I’ll grab the photo.

* if you’re concerned that someone in your life may be self-harming, this spell should be used in addition to, not in place of, proper mental health counseling. Likewise, if someone has threatened physical harm to others, be sure to get law enforcement involved as well.

You will need:

  • A glass of water.
  • Alternatively, a plastic bottle of mineral water.

Timing:

Any health or healing purpose, any place.

The spell:

  • Hold a glass of water between your hands. Because water is pure, you can use it as a magical space and imprint it with whatever you need.
  • For a specific health or healing purpose, say what you most need. For example, say: “My headache is lifting and I am full of energy.
  • Empower the water for health, vitality, and strength for the days or hours ahead.
  • Keep your hands cupped around the glass for about two minutes and then slowly sip the water, thinking about the empowerment.
  • If you always feel tired in the morning, fill a glass of water before you sleep, endowing it with energy and enthusiasm for the day ahead. Drink the water as soon as you wake, saying: “I fill myself with the enthusiasm and joy for the day ahead.

Journal Spell to Fight Your Fears

You’ll need:

  • A blank journal and a red pen

Do you ever wish you had more courage? Sometimes if we could only speak up, take that first step, or make a leap of faith, we’d feel better. A lack of courage isn’t something to be ashamed of, and it’s certainly something you can overcome with a bit of time and effort. This spell, which will take three weeks, should help you get focused and brave enough to make the decisions you need to.

Begin by making a list of what scares you on the first page - not the mundane things like spiders or heights, but the big, life changing issues, like Being aloneorMaking a new start. Once you have your list, turn the page. Each day, for the next 21 days, right the list again, but add the words I am not afraid of… in front of each item. Speak it out loud as you write.

After you’ve written your list on the last day, build a fire, burn the journal, and send away your fears for good.

Spring Wildflower Inspiration Crown

You’ll need:

  • A selection of wildflowers with stems
  • Ribbons in silver, purple, and gold

During the merry month of May, wildflowers are blooming all over the place. Why not take advantage of what’s available, weave flowers into a crown, and use it for inspiration when your creative juices are feeling blocked? Find a field where you can collect wildflowers undisturbed, and do this spell on a bright, sunny afternoon.

Gather up as many wildflowers as you can, and find a quiet place just sit. We’ve the flowers together into a circle, much like the Daisy chains you made as a child, until you have enough to sit comfortably on your head. As you are connecting the flowers, let your mind wander a bit, opening up to the issue at hand - in which aspects of your life do you need to unlock your creativity? Add the ribbons for a finishing look, and place the crown on your head, saying “Inspiration come to me, vision and creativity, ideas and insight flowing free, as I will, so it shall be.”

Relax in the field, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, until you’re ready to go home. Thank floral crown over your workspace to help inspire you.

wildbeewitch:

Yarrowachillea millefolium

Yarrow is a wild flower once common across much of Europe, also known as Milfoil, and it is an important medicinal herb. It is most commonly used and associated with stopping bleeding and it is a styptic (aids in blood clotting) and an astringent (makes tissue contract). It’s also antiseptic and so this plant is linked with poultices for wounds.

It is side to have been used to stop the wounds of Achilles (hence it’s Latin name).

An infusion of the fresh or dried leaves is used to help head colds or influenza as it encourages sweating and reduces fever. A cooled infusion can also be used to wash wounds.

Avoid in pregnancy, can cause allergic skin reactions in sensitive people who suffer from allergies related to the Asteraceae family. This plant is not intended for long term use.

But it’s important not to confuse Yarrow with any of its similar neighbours like Fools (cows) Parlsey or Hemlock

These plants are poisonous so pay close attention to the leaves or better yet, get your Yarrow from someone with training is plant based medicine.

Post link

aka the most overdue post on my blog. I have been struggling with getting a basic recipe and guide out because it’s such an important, useful, tool that can go overlooked and I want to get it right. I’ve decided to go ahead and publish the copy from the pages i’ve written on it since I’m 2 years late on my cookbook. I promise it’s coming! I have page layouts and everything - i’m sad i had to put it on pause so consider this a sneak peek and a very long post. hope you like it!

Disclaimer ⛔

The idea here is that the original recipe isn’t safe for consumption but those ingredients are what make it so effective. So it can be wise to have two different batches working. The classic which is toxic - for external work, and a modified recipe that can be ingested. Make sure you keep these properly marked and away from each other.

Uses

As a seasoning in food
As a daily supplement
Cleansing Baths
Floor Washes
Protection Work
Repelling negativity

History

The history behind Four Thieves is elusive- There’s a possible confusion of names. Richard Forthave, a man said to have allegedly concocted and sold the vinegar as a medicine. The name being transformed over time from Forthave’s to Four Thieves. Then there are the more classic tales of thieves ranging from four to four hundred, employing it as a pesticide and cologne during the plague. Regardless of it’s origins, it was highly effective. It’s prolific history has made it a staple in folklore and practices around the world to protect oneself from illness and malevolence.

One tradition I personally enjoy when crafting your own is adding a new personal ingredient to a batch. Your own contribution as a “thief” to the ever-growing folklore. Customize your vinegar to your own needs! For example, I add turmeric for it’s anti-inflammatory properties as well as it’s energetic and positive correspondences

Maintain the same thoughts of protection as the garlic while crushing and adding the cloves.

•reblog and add on if you have something positive to say!!

Update on the snails! Ovid and Euripides are doing pretty well… I switched up their enclosure a bit because I figured they were getting bored and needed a more engaging atmosphere.

So far I’ve figured out that their favorite foods are romaine lettuce, green beans, and spinach. They really don’t seem to be big fans of fruit though ‍♀️ I tried giving them tomato and strawberries and they didn’t touch them.
