Another evening of sparring. This time I barely got touched despite sparring with the same speedy fighter from last week and some other larger hard hitters. I am really pleased with how well my defence has improved. I took a few hits intentionally to get inside but guarded up well and left the session without a mark. Footwork has really come on as well as handspeed and head movement. PROTEIN OVERNIGHT OATS
If you struggle to hit your protein every day, or if you like delicious overnight oats… This post is for you!!!
This #mealprepsunday (on Tuesday) I decided to not bore you with the same chicken sweet potatoes and veggies (but I will eventually, because I did make them!)
.
I ALWAYS have oatmeal for breakfast, it has so many benefits and keeps me really full in the morning.
BUT, because I eat eggs as well in the mornings.. I end up going into work feeling as full as a balloon.
.
BUT NOT THIS WEEK I’m going to premake my oatmeal and eat it midday as a snack.

ANYWHO, here’s the recipe
-½ cup quick cook oats (uncooked)
-1 tbsp chia seeds
-¼ cup blueberries
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or your milk of choice) (use @fairlife for the most protein)
-½ scoop protein powder (I use level-1 from @1stphorm because it also keeps me full and it’s the best tasting, most biodegradable protein out there)
A pinch of cinnamon
Vanilla extract
.
Mix it all up in a jar, and throw it in the fridge overnight to eat the next day!!

What can I throw together at the end of the night to get as close to my daily targets as possible even if it means eating at 10pm

Sometimes it’s actual dinner food. Sometimes it’s candy and a protein shake.
I think one time or two I actually ate 3 bowls of cereal for dinner just because I can. On a calorie restriction it’s not as easy, but it can be done and you can still reach those fat loss goals.

I have NOT taken this challenge aggressively because I know I wouldn’t be able to sustain it. Slow and steady wins the race. I’m still eating a decent amount of calories, I’m not starving, im not doing an hour of cardio a day, I only go to the gym 4 days a week, and I’m not a completely nut case like I was the last time I decided to lose weight

Ten lbs and 5.25 inches I joined #teamWAG @workingagainstgravity. I had done flexible dieting before but never to this extent and never with such accountability and encouragement. 

No major changes to my diet (except maybe more carbs and a little less peanut butter, but not much!) No major changes to my fitness regime. 

Just one thing, and a lot of learning. Tracked all the food I ate diligently and very rarely gave in and cheated significantly (not to say I didn’t eat any junk food—I just made sure to account for it). Weighed everything. Learned that measuring is not nearly as accurate as the scale. 

Working Against Gravity has both redefined how I view food and how I eat and has definitely given me way more energy to put towards my workouts. I’ve always been hardcore about hitting the gym because I love it, but when your progress is elevated because your nutrition is on point and you have people behind you wanting you to succeed, you do what you can to not let them down.

I’m leaner and lighter than I’ve been in years (likely since high school—I am 29 fyi), my lifts either remain the same or have gone up. Since starting with the group my RX handstand push ups have improved, other gymnastics including ring dips, push ups, pull ups, and ab exercises also have improved. My endurance and cardio stamina feels better most days (and having asthma, I have struggled with this and don’t have a great engine).

Love this program, love tracking what I eat, love fuelling my body and giving it exactly what it needs to do well. Love trusting the process. Loveknowing and being confident in food and nutrition choices. Love that this will be an easy thing to maintain and keep with for awhile.

Big changes over 9 weeks of dieting! Trimmed off my competition recovery weight. It’s crazy how much easier dieting was this time rather than during competition prep. Probably because of experience and not going into single digit body fat. I actually enjoyed my mini cut. Never would have imagined that!

Now I’m back to bulking and preparing for competition in 2020. The goal is to grow my pecs and legs! Wish me luck!
