#self worth

LIVE

“sometimes the destination does change. not because you aren’t worthy of attaining your goals or reaching certain targets, but only because the finish line looks different every time you outgrow parts of who you used to be.”

— iambrillyant

“some people have a habit of looking for you at addresses that your soul no longer resides at. it’s okay to accept that the space you are currently existing in looks very different to the one they last left with you. you don’t have to open new doors for old energy.”

— iambrillyant

“healing is such a lonely and intimate process. it requires you being your own friend on some days, being your biggest cheerleader in certain moments and spending quality time with your wounds— but it is all so necessary.”

— iambrillyant

How To Choose The Right Perfume for you

“Perfumes are like colours.”

In the same way, not all colours suit our skin tone. Not all perfumes will marry our natural body smell.I used to buy perfumes based on what was trending at the moment.

Advertising and Marketing had a lot to do with that, but now I have a different approach that I am going to share in this blog post.

1.Don’t fall into the trap of Marketing

Sometimes, the packaging, the bottle, and the colours can seduce you and get you to buy a perfume before even you get to smell it.

But you really should not judge a book by its cover. I tried on perfume that had an incredible presentation but was not that great.

2.Shop for perfumes alone

When you go shopping with other people. It is easy to get distracted and eveninfluenced by their opinion. It is best to go perfume shopping alone. It’ll be easier for you to make the right choice for yourself. Without any noise or distraction around you to influence you.

3.Try the perfume on your Hand…

Wait a few hours to see how the perfume alchemizes with your natural body smell. If you still like the smell on your skin, you can safely purchase the perfume knowing that you will enjoy putting it on every day.

The whole self love thing is good and all but some people can’t fathom being loved. They can’t imagine there being anything good about them. So they can’t simply just stop doing unhealthy things, there’s a process.

Before self love you have to invoke self tolerance and self neutrality.

If you can’t say “I love my body!” say “my body gets me from place to place.”

If you can’t say “I’m beautiful,” begin by shutting down the “I’m ugly” thoughts and saying “I’m a person.”

If you can’t say “I’m valuable” begun by shutting down the “I’m worthless” thoughts and say “all people deserve basic respect, and I’m a person.”

If you can’t say “I’m important,” or “I’m kind” say “I am the one who waters my plant every week” or “I am the one who tips the kind barista down the street” or “I am the one who makes sure my dog does not eat plastic” or “I am the one who leaves long comments on people’s fan fictions.”

As a professional crybaby ever since I was an infant, I’ve really struggled with accepting this, and I still have trouble. But crying is healthy, normal, and a great way to relieve stress and built up emotions. ❤️ You’re not ‘weak’. You’re actually very strong.

“ -‘Oh, flowers again! I guess there’s someone out there that really adores you’ - said Paul slowly approaching me. ‘Yes, I bought them for myself’ - I answered smelling the scent of the bouquet of carnations I got from the flower shop near my house - ‘And I think I am going to buy them more often’ ”.
