There is a farmer’s market in Ferney-Voltaire, France that is hands-down the best Saturday market I have ever been to. It’s honestly what dreams are made of, and every time I go to Ferney I absolutely must be there on a Saturday so I can go to the market.
Sweet deliciousy goodness, is this place for real? I have never walked out of an Aladdin’s without being completely stuffed as well as totally satisfied. I mean really, hats off to these guys because their food is not only awesome, its really consistent throughout their locations which I’ve noticed can sometimes be a problem with restaurants like this.
My typical order is either the hummus or baba for an appetizer, along with a side of vegetables. If you like hummus and hummus-like things but have never tried baba, get it. Seriously, you’ll thank me later. Want to jazz it up a bit and get crazy? Ask for their special hot sauce. I don’t know what exactly is in this stuff but it’s like crack. I would bath in it if that wouldn’t be super weird… Get it with the hummus too. One word: heaven.
Anyways, after I eat my weight in appetizers I get the vegan chili. It is honestly so good I have strongly considered ordering two servings of it for one sitting (no I totally do NOT have an eating problem! I swear!)
Back when I wasn’t vegan I would get the taza chicken salad. Guys, this dish is legit. Don’t let the word “salad” scare you away, it is seriously so good and super filling.
I don’t think I have ever brought anyone here and had them not be totally impressed with the food and service. In fact, every time my sister comes into town she insists on Aladdin’s. My family will even get a huge take-out order right before they leave to drive back to NY so they can have it when they get home. It’s that good guys.
Do yourself a favor and check this place out. I promise you will love it. (Ok, so I can’t really PROMISE you’ll love it, but I am pretty sure you’ll at least like it, so go!)
I have to confess, I stole this delicious picture from my mom’s Instagram account. This is the potato rosemary pizza she made for my sister’s 23rd birthday. Can you say fancy??
Welp Yelp, I can finally say I tried the elusive Noodlecat. I have been back-and-forth on whether or not to get food from here for a while now, mainly because of my fellow Yelpers inability to decide whether or not this place is awesome or sucks. The reviews are so all over the place I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to subject myself to the possibility of a bad meal. I decided once and for all the bite the bullet though and check this place out for myself.
Overall, I’m not super impressed. The location, servers, and vibe were a+, no complaints there, but the food was just lacking for me. Considering the price as well as the hype, I expected a pretty tasty dish when I ordered the smoked tomato coconut curry udon, instead though I got some pretty slimy noodles. The broth was good but overall could have used a bit more body, and the tofu was a pretty pointless addition to the dish. I wish they had gotten a little more creative with it. Just because I’m vegan doesn’t mean I like huge chunks of tofu in my soup!
The house sake was good though, it was infused with orange and lemon and I could have drank a barrel of it. It was just what I wanted while sitting outside in the late summer sun.
Overall, I vote skip Noodlecat. It just didn’t impress me enough to feel the need to recommend it to anyone or bother going back.
It’s the for everyone who wants a healthy alternative to normal brownies or wants to try something besides the sweet potato ones.

Hellooo from Nusa Lembongan and our, right before sunset view. I’ll spend the last few days here before heading back into the cold. Berlin is calling, slowly but save :). Have you been traveling around on any of these islands here? I feel like I travel from one paradise into another. It’s just magical and today’s day was one of the most grounding ones I had so far. We snorkeled with the most beautiful fishes, saw turtles, and watched a sunset which looked like right out of a picture book. As this isn’t enough, dolphins made their evening love show in-front of our eyes. Still have goosebumps thinking of it. And this shows me again, all the magic is created by nature. We need to take care of it <3
Dreamy matcha latte to start my morning✨ I never really drank coffee before last year (exam period is a fun time ) but I’m slowly trying to wean myself off so I don’t have such a dependency hehe I used: 3 tsp matcha powder 2 tbsp maple syrup or any other liquid sweetener 1 tsp vanilla extract 3 cups almond milk ½ cup coconut milk
Just heat up the almond milk until warm and whisk in maple syrup, vanilla and matcha until dissolved. Divide into two cups and add the hot coconut milk
So sad I couldn’t get a shot of this before it melted in the 30 degree heat Raw salted caramel slice (apparently the caramel has a real low melting point) Base: ¾ cup pecans, 1 ½ tbsp coconut flour, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 2/3 cup dates (softened) Chocolate layer:½ cup vegetable oil, ¾ cup cocoa powder, 1/3 cup sweetener of choice, ¾ cup nut butter (tahini/almond), 1 tsp vanilla extract, pinch of salt Caramel layer: 1 cup dates, ¼ cup nut butter, ¼ cup sweetener of choice(maple, rice malt), salt, ¼ cup coconut condensed milk
