Sak Pase! Just landed back in Haiti . Went straight to @wideawake.cafe to grab some goodies. They have ton of vegan options. It’s my anniversary! This month marks 18 years since I started my holistic lifestyle journey. What a whirlwind! I started with the intention of wanting to heal the symptoms from my pituitary tumor, scleroderma, and polycystic ovary syndrome. I never imagined it would turn into Yes Baby I Like It Raw. I have learned quite a bit over the years. Here are a few of the ones that stand out:
1. Your body knows how to heal almost all the ailments we are confronted with. We just need to get out of its way.
2. There is no fountain of youth; approaches to healing are not universal. The variability in our DNA, lifestyle, and environment not only affect our health but should be considered when giving prescriptions or protocol. What works for one person can not be applied to everyone else. Healing methods should be customized to the individual. 3. Too much of anything can be bad for you. Balance and diversity are key.
4. Stress is at the core of so many of our physical, and mental ailments. You can eat well and be physically fit yet if you are not properly managing your stress illness is inevitable.
Your cycle is your body’s own way of cleansing and flushing out toxins. During this time I try my best to align with stillness and tranquility. I have a red-moon cycle, which is bleeding during the waxing or full moon and becoming fertile with the new moon. “In ancient time, the red-moon cycle was associated with shamanic healers. Women who menstruated with the full moon are believed to harness their dark and creative energies and channel them outward, nourishing others and imparting wisdom from their own experience. A white-moon cycle, which is bleeding with or near the new moon is connected to fertility and motherhood. (Thomas 120)” I use different rituals and implements to allow me to align myself with the energy present during my cycle. It includes:
1. Burning incense, palo santo, or sage 2. Rest 3. Meditation 4. Journaling 5. Drinking more tea and water 6. Prayer
During a full moon I write a gratitude list as well as write down my goals and post put them on my manifestation board. I may do all of the above or just what I feel is necessary based on my intuition.
One my most recent intuitive shifts is @shethinx period underwear. I literally was tired of sticking something in and was trying to find an alternative that wouldn’t give me “diaper rash”. Thinx has allowed me to do just that. It provides the support I need with out feeling evasive. They have a ton of choices when it comes to your flow and they recently released a pair of underwear that can hold 4 tampons worth of blood.

Tell me your idea! _ During the last few years I’ve learned that wellbeing is not just one thing but a combination of things that may seem contrasting. _ How is it possible?! _ Wellbeing to me is both working out and having rest days. Wellbeing is a mix of eating healthy and treating yourself. It is staying both staying in and going out. It is both alone time and time filled with friends. _ You can’t reach true wellbeing with just one part of all of the above. You need balance! _ Last week for me was a perfectly balanced combination. Workouts, family time, eating clean during the week AND treating myself, friends filled time, rest from exercise during the weekend. I feel so satisfied! _____ [ITA] Cos’è davvero il benessere?
