For this Strawberry Full Moon on June, you can still make great spells during these weekend.  Spells about friendship are ideal! (it can also be about breaking them, or making new ones) but this one here is about blessing a friendship.  It´s important to make it in the nights close to the time of the full moon, wether its before or after, when the  moon is at its brightest and use only candles as source of light.

You will need Dill Powder, 5 things that you both like (it can be between a large group of friends too), and rope or a thread.

First make a circle with the rope and start placing the things around it (not inside) , then spread the dill powder all over them. Once its done, each of the involved have to say why the friendship is important to them.

In the end , both say how long you wish your friendship to last and blow the candles out.

The Elements are the forces of Nature and life, and are incorporated into ritual and magick. Every aspect of existence is bound up in Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. And the fifth element which is Spirit (or also deemed Aether), which is present in each of the other four. Each of the four classical Elements is associated with one of the four cardinal directions; North, East, South and West.

There are also energetic associations, that add great depth to interpretations of how people with different zodiac signs interact with each other, for each sign is associated with an Element, and each Element is different.

Mabon apple twist bread

More mabon goodies!!! This is something I devised while looking at various recipes and having a apples that needed to be used up. I think it turned out fairly well.

7 apples - fertility/abundance

4 cans of pillsbury crescent rolls

1tspVanilla extract- beauty/self love

2tbs Ground nutmeg-prosperity/luck

1tbs Ground cloves-prosperity/good relationships

3tbs Cinnamon-happiness/wealth

½ Crushed Walnuts-protection/empowerment

2/3 cup butter ( used vegan butter but dairy works fine) -tenacity/nurturing

1 cup sugar (preferably brown but white works fine)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Dice apples into bite size peices

then add apples, nutmeg, sugar, cloves, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract into pan

Keep them on medium until apples are soft.

(My stove was right between 4-3. And

it took 5-10 minutes till they were soft)

Open up the pillyberry dough and take out a single triangle from each one

(This will be used to patch up while we’re the apples break through if your like me and over stuff them)

Take the remaining dough and roll them into four separate balls

Roll out the balls into basically dough lines

Load up each line with the soft apples

Then pull on the sides to fill and create long dough filled apple things

Repeat for each ball of dough using the dough you pulled out to patch wholes along the way

Put non stick stuff into your pan (I just brush mine with olive oil)

Twist two lines of dough into a braid like thing

And repeat with the other two

Then brush over both twists with left over goop from the apples

Sprinkle on the crushed walnuts and bake for 30-35 minutes

I’m reading this thing about how farmers in Japan considered thunderstorms to be good luck because they’d make more mushrooms grow so some Japanese scientists created this lil electrical machine that they wheeled through the forest administering shocks to the ground to simulate lightning strikes and the areas that they shocked yielded twice as many mushrooms as unshocked plots of land ⚡️

https://blog.mycology.cornell.edu/2013/01/20/zap-lightning-gods-and-mushrooms/

the fact that we reached a point where we can simulate fake storms to make little buddies grow twice as much is like magic but slightly to the left and just down right delightful

A handy resource guide of 100+ witches from across history, literature, mythology, and pop culture. Not all of these women would have identified as such, but many were persecuted and marginalized in the name thereof. This is not complete, nor comprehensive. I will be adding to it as I continue the project, as there are many, many witches I have yet to include.

*denotes I was unable to complete their original post. I will be returning to these and adding a full analysis.

This list stems from my original project that I did for the 100 days before Halloween 2018. The nature of the project I discuss in my 1st post, which happened to be The Witch of Endor. I will be adding dozens other witches I did not get to in the initial 100 over time, and plan on producing a second series for male witches. Stay Tuned!

On the horizon

  • Bonnie Bennett (Vampire Diaries)
  • Witch of the Waste (Howl’s Moving Castle)
  • Mary Poppins
  • Louise Miller (Teen Witch)

Let’s be real here. Those of us who are on the moons side don’t really have a reason to worry. These moon deities are not dumb, if they’re going to retaliate it’s going to be extremely targeted, not a broad hit at the entirety of witchcraft. Unless you were one of the idiots who actually thought they would hex some of the most powerful forces in magic, you don’t have a reason to be afraid. Just show your deities that you’re here to support them and offer help when asked. They don’t need your protection and they honestly don’t really need help. Extend your support to them as much as you want and show them you’re on their side, but I promise you these baby witches haven’t made a dent on these forces in an attempt to try to hurt them. If anything they just hexed a giant mirror and got it thrown back at them.

A WITCH’S COZY BUTTERNUT WINTER SOUP

This soup is sooooo good! It really puts me in the spirit for yule, and the ending of fall, into the transition of winter. Stir in a clockwise motion to bring cozy vibes into your houses atmosphere and dance to some winter songs to release stagnate energy from a days hard work! P.S. Yule Log Cake recipe coming up in a few day so look out for that !

Ingredients:

  • 1 large butternut squash
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • Sprigs of thyme and rosemary
  • 2 (28 oz) cans whole tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375 F. Cut your butternut squash in half and scoop out the seeded part. Do the same for your red pepper and sweet potato. Brush with olive oil and season with the spices listed above. Bake for 1 ½ hours.

2. In a deep large pot, cook your onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent. Transfer that into a large food blender and add your tomatoes, pepper, flesh of your butternut squash and the insides of your sweet potato. Blend until very smooth and transfer back into the pot.

3. Add more seasoning to taste, chicken stock, and your sprigs of thyme and rosemary. Bring to a boil over high heat. Then turn it down to a lower heat, cover, and let simmer for at least 30 minutes.

4. Serve with grated parmesan, toasted bread, and laddle into bowls. Enjoy!

As an empath who is still learning to protect myself, this has helped me. Hopefully it helps others, too.

Rae’s Rose Release Tea

  • 3 parts Rose petals
  • 2 parts Lavender
  • 1 part Green tea
  • Honey to taste

First, I ground everything together in my mortar and pestle, the entire time directing my energy and the intention of tension/stress release into the motion.

Then, I let it steep for 5min before stirring in my desired amount of honey. Before drinking, I held the cup in my hands with my eyes closed, allowing the warmth and peace to seep in. Then I enjoyed it.

I’ve found that this little “ritual” helps ease the tension in my body and the weight on my shoulders. I hope it helps you, too!

Cleansing simmer pot for Imbolc

adjusted from:thewholesomewitch.com

This is the very first actual ritual I did. I have been learning for a good 2 years now but I have never performed magick since it never felt right. But this time it did. I celebrate Imbolc early because I don’t have much time during the weekdays, so I had my little celebration the weekend before :)

Materials:

  • a small pot
  • 3 lemon slices (I didn’t want to waste any so I used 4)

for love, purification, longevity, and friendship.

  • 2tbsp lavender (I added some more later for good measure because it just smelled so good)

for happiness, peace, protection, purification, and sleep.

  • 2tbsp chamomile flowers (I used ‘expired’ calming tea that had chamomile in it)

for sleep, peace, love and purification

  • 1 tbsp rosemary and 1 tbsp vanilla extract

for healing, love, protection and purification

Instructions:

  1. The most important thing is to think about what you want to achieve with this simmer pot. I really wanted to clear the house from any negative energy and entities, to clear the house from any anger or sadness we’ve had the past year and to fill the house with a clean positive and calming energy. Keep this in your mind.
  2. Fill the pot with water (I just filled it to half because I wasn’t sure how long it would take to cook down), and mindfully add your ingredients. Bring it to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, lower the heat to a simmer. Stir clockwise to bring in positive energy (good health, prosperity, love, happiness and peace) and counter clockwise to banish the misunderstandings, miscommunications, arguments etcetera.
Recite some words, I just used the ones from thewholesomewitch: ‘I cleanse this place in time and space. Negativity I set you free. As my will, so mote it be.’
  4. Take a deep loving breath in, and another loving breath out. Feel your lungs filling with this new positive energy and visualize the negative going up up and away with the steam. Keep chanting, visualizing and stirring until it feels right to stop.

Leave the pot simmering until there is only a centimeter or so of water left and turn it off. Your ritual is complete.

My results

First of all the smell was absolutely amazing, I am definitely going to be doing more simmer pots. Maybe even instead of incense. We have a small home so incense can get overpowering very easily plus we also have pets, simmer pots are a much safer option for me.

Second, my family was quite stressed and angry this day. Lots of pressure from other family and friends rested on our shoulders but the moment the simmer pot was done it felt so much lighter. We even just fell asleep on the couch so calm and at ease haha

I’m going to try this spell later today ☺️

I really love how you put the actual ingredient as well as a substitution — I’ll probably end up losing the chamomile tea I have as well lol

A few months ago, the most beautiful lunar calendar showed up on my dash, thanks to @etsycult! I immediately added this beautiful work of art by ABJglassworks to my wish-list. Alas, I am broke witch, so I came up with an immediate solution until I can afford to splurge :)

You will need:

  • piece of hobby board
  • chalkboard paint
  • white paper
  • marker
  • bottle cap
  • scissors
  • glue
  • chalk pencil

Step One

Paint your hobby board with the chalkboard paint. I used three coats of paint and sanded in-between so that it would be nice and smooth to write on. This is probably overkill and not necessary. Just paint until you’re satisfied.

Step Two

Use your bottle cap to trace 9 moons. Cut out your moons. Use your marker to denote the phases.

Step Three

Glue on your moons and then add the dates and astrological signs with your chalk pencil. To find the current lunar phase and astrological sign,  The Moon app is perfect!

That’s it! Thank you to Etsy Cult and ABJglasworks for the inspiration! Please consider supporting the artist if it’s in your budget :)
