Did I askfor your medical input? No? Then don’t offer it.

When Lorde said, “I thought I was a genius, but now I’m twenty-two.” and when Lorde said, “I’m tryna get well from the inside.” and when she said, “We had no idea the dreams we had were far too big.” and when she said, “‘Cause we are all broken and sad.”

for anyone who needs to hear it:

if something you can’t seem to control is chewing on your mental space and negatively impacting your life - making it hard to think positive, get out of bed, get work done, remember what you need to do, clean your spaces, etc - you are NOT:

  • making things up
  • being a lazy bum
  • making excuses
  • deliberately ruining your life
  • a bad person

you ARE:

  • noticing something is wrong with your health
  • in need of assessment and treatment to get better!

cozei:

ways to become friends with yourself:

  • set boundaries with people. those who respect you, will respect them.
  • allow yourself to accept good things. you deserve happiness and warmth and love.
  • it’s okay to be a mess. it’s okay to not know what your next step is. it’s okay to be scared. trust that the universe has your back.
  • remember that healing is not linear. you are not weak because some days are suddenly harder than others.
  • consciously feel the world under your feet as you walk and the warmth of the sun on your cheek.
  • do things you enjoy! even if they seem silly. even if you think you have no time. make time for yourself.
  • take care of yourself. take deep breaths. take bubble baths. take too long admiring yourself in the mirror.

It’s okay if you have hunger swings. Remember that this is your body trying to heal. Listen to it’s cues, eat as much as you need to.

intersexfairy:

my mom is also intersex - and she was bullied relentlessy. when her hair was short, her peers harassed her for “looking like a boy.” these same peers were violent with her. so, she’d almost always let the hair dresser do whatever they wanted, as long as they didn’t cut it short. and it never made her happy.

but after literal decades, she finally got a pixie cut. a haircut she wanted. she looked so bright and happy after getting it, and she looks much more like herself. it wasn’t “just hair” for her; it was healing and joy. and i’m sure for some intersex, trans, nby, and gnc people reading this, it isn’t “just hair” for you, either.

if you’ve been holding off changing anything about your appearance because of bigotry or dismissal: please know that no matter what, you have permission to do what you want with your body. i and so many others support you. it’s never too late to do what makes you happy.

theambitiouswoman:

I’m going to be extremely honest with y’all because I see that a lot of people don’t get it. But when someone loves you, the LAST THING they will do is hurt you. Hurting you feels like they are hurting themselves. And they will definitely never blame you for your actions, even if you’re wrong, even if you’re not wrong but you’re hurt.

If you’ve never experienced this it’s okay. But this reality very much exists and it saddens me to see what everyone settles for and puts up with these days and call love.

Love is an easy word to say and a hard word to prove. Don’t be so thirsty for love that you fall for words and justify toxic actions.

Joy: because there just isn’t anything better…

Third time’s a charm, and for week three we are all about JOY: a theme every single one of us can get behind. Just because it doesn’t always feel like it, and it definitely hasn’t over the last few years, that is not to say the world is a place without joy. And it comes in many different forms, colors, shapes, and sizes. It could be amazing life news, like a new job, or new apartment. It can even be little things, like birds singing, a walk in the park, or finding a new favorite song. However you get your joy, we are here for it.

With our partners @dayone-app, you will find daily writing prompts to get thinking, journaling, and improving mental wellbeing this Mental Health Month. Use the tag #your happy place to share your joy-themed mood boards.

Join us in celebrating the joys of life, however you get your fill. Tumblr users ranked their time on Tumblr as time better spent compared to all other platforms. So, what is it that you can do here to bring you or others joy today? Who knows—you might even get a little bit of happiness from the tip of a pen, or the tips of your fingers…

Healing together, one step at a time…

It’s Monday in May, which can only mean one thing: Mental Health Month.

This week we are all about HEALING and all the good things that come with it. They say time heals all wounds, and this is true. Everyone needs to heal in their time, in their way. But we’re wondering, why wait? With our partners @dayone-app, you will find daily writing prompts to get thinking, journaling and improving your mental wellbeing. We would love you to share your mood boards with us, aligning with this week’s theme of healing—and we hope you’ll get writing with us.

Join us in healing together, however you choose to do this, as a little bit of healing can come from the tip of a pen or the tips of your fingers…

The body is a temple…

May is Mental Health Month, and here on Tumblr, we want to celebrate the happy place you create. This year, there will be a weekly theme and writing prompts to help your mental well-being.

It’s the fifth and final week. And last, but by no means least, it is all about MIND BODY CONNECTION. They say the body is a temple, and we couldn’t agree more. When you look after your body, you look after your mind. No matter how you do this—resting well, eating well, sleeping well, exercising well, and living well—it’s all a part of your overall wellness. We’re here to remind you that you can make space for it all. Making choices that make YOU feel good is most important—from a delicious slice of cake to some carrots and hummus, or just lying on the grass with friends, or going on that jog you promised yourself. Do what makes you feel good, for both your mind and body!

For the next few days, @dayone-app will provide us with some daily prompts to improve both mind and body this Mental Health Month. Journaling has been proven to improve mental well-being, and we hope you’ll get writing with us. Use the tag #your happy place to share your mind body connection mood boards. Join us in celebrating the mind, the body, and all things in between.

Music, food for the soul…

May is Mental Health Month, and we want to celebrate the happy place you create on Tumblr. This year, you will find a new weekly theme and writing prompts to help your mental well-being.

It’s week four. This time we are all about MUSIC: a theme in every sense of the word. We open Tumblr for inspiration, connection, and entertainment. Music can give us all three. It’s clear that music and well-being go hand-in-hand, and your headphones can also be #your happy place.

TEMP CHECK:

☑️ who doesn’t like to soundtrack to guide them through a sunny day?

☑️ who hasn’t relied on sad music when things get difficult?

If you answered “not me” to any of the above, you’ve found your tribe! Music is one of life’s beautiful reminders that we are never alone in where we’re at or how we feel. Music is its own special kind of therapy, whether playing it, writing it, or listening to it. We like to think it’s the sounds of your soul.

From our partners at @dayone-app, we will share daily writing prompts to reflect, journal, and improve mental well-being with the brain’s best medicine. Share your music mood boards, respond to our prompts, and join us in celebrating music and its powers for bettering our mental health…

I am uncomfortable mentally and physically 90% of the time anymore. I can’t fake being ok or pretending I understand anyone or anything. Im to the point where I struggle to take care of myself anymore I’m so drained.

If there are any autistic females out there that received a diagnosis late in life could you please reach out to me. I’m working on my mental health and the more I read the more I question my ADHD and bipolar diagnosis.

Transgender Nonbinary (they/them) Witch lies on the paving stones of their castle courtyard. They wear black sunglasses, a black tank top, and black lipstick. Red curly hair falls to the Earth. The tank top was designed by Gothic Artist Dana Glover. She smells like cheese tho.ALT

That’s a Dana Glover design.

Balanced Blessings on this Last Quarter Moon

Allow me to speak on balance for Mental Health May (is it? yes?)

CONTENT WARNING: verbal/visual — self-harm — recovery

I’m ramping up to “Promoter Mode” in which I make an effort to let people know about some truly excellent projects.

I’ve amassed a solid collection of artwork and it will be released! It’s only a matter of time, and especially, balance!

A triptych of images with the words "you can grow from being suicidal." A forest grows from the words "suicidal" and soon a thriving forest engulfs the picture frame. Birds, insects, mammals, to include three cats are peacefully enjoying a beautiful scene and only the words "you can grow" remain. You can grow.ALT

On the one hand I’m so fearful of failing. I’m not looking forward to having to promote myself more intensely. Furthermore I am aware of physical tension I’m manifesting with worry!

and the other?

In my other hand I hold determination to respect my boundaries. I plan on enjoying my time completely during Pride Month. I will wear beautiful things and have my hair just so. I can manifest peace of mind, with practice!

So even if this Kickstarter fails, I will have enjoyed myself and made a conscious political choice to honor my Beloved Community.

Last Quarter Moons are pretty cool, right?

Thanks for reading <3
